That's a narrow minded view of the situation you have. Think about it for a moment. Governments of this planet are the only ones who can have any real positive or negative impact on climate change, not some kid getting a lift to school.
These protests are good for keeping the focus on the plight of planets health and for keeping the pressure on world governments.

I'm never comfortable when organisations like the BBC and politicians start according children "wisdom" status. It's patronising.

The usual lines of attack for climate change rear their head every time it's in the news. Those demonstrating are either branded as a hypocrite or a fanatic/lunatic. In either case, it allows you to completely dismiss the actual point of discussion and focus on the individual.
I don’t really get stuff like this.
The fact that other nations are contributing to climate change and not acting is hardly justification for wealthy western nations to do nothing.
Or should we all just give up unless Greta Thunberg manages to get an audience with Xi Jinping and Trump ?
We (as in the West) have the power and the economic bandwidth to lead change on this issue and the fact remains that climate would not have been in the public discourse in the same way without the protests and marches which have taken place in recent years.
I just don’t understand why people are being so dismissive and patronising about children showing some passion about an important issue. It’s very strange.

I can only imagine the numbers globally are even bigger. Very sad. If these protests made governments change on this it would be a real start. They've said they won't prop up failing businesses re Thomas Cook today, so stop subsidising fossil fuel companies.

Then when they March and show a willingness to be part of causes affecting them and a desire to get up off their butts to shout and walk for change. The same older generations tell them to pipe down and know their roles and what do they know right?
Imagine if the various groups in the past across the world of all races and creeds had listened to their elders and oppressors and piped down and said and did nothing.
How dare anyone tell them they are wrong to fight for what they believe in. Especially when they show they are serious about it.
