Extinction rebellion has already had an impact in Government. How "green" policies are is now a much more important consideration.
For private companies, they see how public opinion changes and they run with it in order to maximise profit.

i dont think that argument will hold much water with them, as they belieee the climate emergency, wrongly or rightly, IS the most important thing facing us and is more important than anything else
Far more likely manufacturing jobs will be lost to robots than to kids marching in the streets about climate change policy.

We know there are finite resources, we have the technology to replace current methodologies, just like the smokestack econony was replaced, we just don't have the political willpower or foresight because the capitalism we live by is extremely selfish.

Why is it that you only see these demonstrations in places like London and other large cities. I’m not aware of any demonstrations in our Market Towns or villages. Do our countryside kids just not care about this. Why are there no demonstrations in London against all those with chic wood burning fires......
The UK is one of the world leaders in wind energy Pete. Just saying like.
Incidentally, I believe in terms of emissions per capita, the US is a good double anywhere else in the world, so it's hard to see any progress being made on this until the twit in the White House is removed.
They are inheriting a mess and good on them for raising awareness and at least trying to make a difference.
Better kids are politicised in a good way rather than lost on an X-Box.

But just like similar people at various festivals chanting about the climate, environment etc etc, before leaving the countryside looking like a toilet, what will they actually do to either clean up the environment or direct their protests at actual things that may affect the climate.......
