I'm sure they mean well, however, the needs of business will be put first. Unless green technologies can supercede less green technologies in making money nothing will change, therefore hundreds of millions of people will have to die because of climate change and over a very short time for any meaningful change. I suppose a smaller catastrophe in the western world might focus minds, however, this will depend where and what type of class of people were affected.

Hey if the miners got the treatment, why should this lot get dispensation - less police to cope with these demonstrations ok if they are peaceful , but yet closing roads near hospitals is a disgrace and they should be dealt with by the law so if the police are short of manpower we have a paid army sitting around use them in the effective way no violence just send them in to a safe area to demonstrate their feelings about climate change - they should try doing their demonstrations in China first or Russia , and see how they would get treated......

Er, because what happened to the miners at Orgeave (and the Peace Convoy around the same time) are among the darkest days in this country's recent history and hopefully we've moved on from there a bit?

So why are they allowed to demonstrate blocking roads off ......the end of the flying pickets are over to have an organised protest do it now Hyde park .....

Quite happyfor them to. Already been regularly disrupted by them, it wasn’t great for me but thankfully many people can see it’s not just about them.

The very point of protests and demonstrations is too cause disruptions albeit orderly and peacefully. It would be pointless if they all stood in a park out off the way.

Not they are not and if they are in the UK that is an issue.

Permission and permits maybe needed by the police but them organising it is a bit of a stretch.

Anyway I'm not sure how that even rebuttals what I said.

Disruption was the point being made not who organizes them so saying I'm wrong is odd and funny

Not really they were fighting for their jobs plus the police in force stopped the flying pickets so disruption was at a minimum hospitals were never closed = this is about the scientist theory which our government is well ahead of ......on climate change.... big difference - you can't beat a bag of nutty slack......

As I've said, I'm not a fan of generally making a nuisance of yourself, but it's my understanding that they're doing it at Westminster because that's where the decision makers are. I dare say as airports are private property, they would also be hoiked off fairly sharpish.

Terrorism related charges are normally brought against protesters at airports.
