Disagree to an extent.

I think a freshen up of the squad is essential and for me, a lot of that is ridding ourselves of under performing players who dont take any responsibility, lack accounability and quite frankly are no way near good enough. Physically gone, the dont even display mental measures we could argue are benefitting the team on the pitch.

Baines, Williams, Jags, Martina all fall into that category.

...it’s amazing how many players Koeman managed to move on. I’m not sure of the contract positions of the players you mention, but I doubt Martina will be leaving anytime soon after he already run down his contract at Southampton.

No way will we be mass shipping players out in Jan. Maybe a few next season but we have shot our bolt money wise and I suspect any cash we have left will be spent on a striker whoever that may be. They money situation was obvious when it came towards the end of the window and we still hadn't brought in another defender. It even looked like the Vlasic buy was a cheap winger option.
I also can't believe we put all our eggs in one basket on Giroud and hoping that Costa would lose his sanity and come to us on loan for 6 months

Quite simply who needs the boot from our current first team squad :

Jagielka
Williams
Baines
Martina
Klaassen
Sandro

All need replacing at the first oppourtuntiy imo.

I'm on the fence with Sigurdsson.

Id give sandro and klassen time. All players the come from different leagues need a decent amount of time. The have got limited time in a team playing with no confidence. The other experienced players that u mentioned dont have that excuse and are turning into an embarrassment for our club.

I think if they're serious about a top 6 spot, then the only players that would be good enough to start for a top 6 team would be Davies, Vlasic, Besic, Gueye, Pickford, Klaasen, Keane. Everyone else would only be good enough with a spot on the bench or as a backup.

Actually I think the team played better WITH Klaasen in the first few weeks than the last few without.

Sorry but I think you are truly over estimating the ability of the majority of players you mention.

Ok I agree that the players you list would possibly all gain squad places in what is the current top six but other than maybe Pickford would find a starting berth with those across the park, Gueye at possibly Arsenal, I am far from sure any of the others would be regular starters

Well yes, granted i didnt take contract length into my consideration but I am sick to the back teeth of the so called leaders of our squad.

The likes of Pickford, Keane, Davies, DCL, need help rather than having to be the helper. Sooner Jags and Williams are gone, broken up the better. Roll on January so we can hopefully prize a left back from somewhere.

Dont be surprised if Dyche comes in that Taylor follows.

Jags and Baines should have been taking coaching badges start of the season had Ron done his job right.
Williams needs a taxi to Lime Street as to catch a train to Swansea.
The kids have been badly let down by being thrown in with out correct management and leadership on the pitch.

Still time to get it fixed. And for that we should be grateful as we have Villa painted all over us.

If there's a single Moyes player left other than Coleman at the start of next season that'll be a disgrace.

If poor Seamus comes back the same player I'd be amazed and praying and thanking football gods.
That night he got injured I was thinking that was career over :(

He will be fine. It was a broken leg rather than a potentially recurring muscle injury, they're very rarely career ending these days and players often make full recoveries just fine.

What’s frightening is the length of contracts some of the over 30s were given.

At the end of this season 3 players will be out of contract. Robles, Barkley and Lennon. Come 219 season end it’s 5 :Rooney, Baines, Jagielka, Williams and Stenkenberg.

The mess on the pitch comes about due to a clear lack of management off. It’s easy to point the finger at RK because he’s the face of management but the issues run deeper and as we have seen Walsh doesn’t seem to have brought much to the part as yet.

I go back to the first line of my post just reflect on the Baines situation where with still over a year on his contract at age 32 he in effect is handed a two year extension. Madness and not Something you see at the likes of Chelsea or Arsenal. Who on earth was sanctioning this type of contract?

The problem with the CBs is that until January we don’t have many better options. Holgate plays like a school boy at CB, rash, not good enough in the air, ponderous. Browning Galloway and Pennington are all out of the picture. Funes Mori is crocked.

Martina, mccarthy and Lennon imo. Keep the rest as squad players. We just need to buy players to push players such as Jags and Williams down the pecking order. Get them playing a max of 10 games a season and they'd be fine. Sell them both as you're suggesting and we need to buy 3 new centre backs, brilliant thinking. Sell Baines we have no actual left backs.

At the end of this season we should be looking to get shut of Niasse, Williams, Stekelenburg/Robles, Besic, and Martina. None of them contribute anything remotely positive.

I wouldn’t be upset to see loads of players leave, but theres plenty who can still be able back ups, like Jags, Baines, Lennon, Mirallas.

Also worth giving all of Ronald’s signings a go, though I suspect Klaassen will be off back to Holland and Sandro to a decent Spanish side.
