City Away Semi Final Second Leg Pub Advice

Seems like a decent place to ask, with 8000+ Evertonians, will it be a struggle to get on a train home?

There are trains at 2209 (if you're a good runner like me, this is very reachable, or better if you can get on tram), 2307 and 2329 (starting at Oxford road... Stops in a fair few merseyrail stations along way... But doesn't get in til 0042), which is a nightmare.

The worst thing that can happen to anyone getting the train, is extra time and pens, I've done the train for a night shame there twice in the past (won 2-0, 2-1), and I can get the 2207 no problem. The added bonus is that it's a 19:45 kick off, and not an 8.

thats a bus next wednesday

There's a 'Spoons about a 10 minute walk from Piccadilly Station

Probably best to drink in town before the match. As far as I know, there's naff all around the ground other than "Home Fans Only" places

After reading this I've decided to stay clear of the ground and drink in town, guess the next question is where?

Just head to Piccadilly Gardens. Quite a few pubs/bars around there and they're reasonable priced for a big city. Come out of Piccadilly Station, take a right and just head onwards for 10 minutes or so. You'll see it signposted

Northern Quarter has nicer places but expect to pay London prices for drinks

Will take this advice. Is it far to walk to the ground from there?

Spot on, do not drink in the pubs near the ground, they're full of neanderthals !!!
