I only read a couple of pages. We are the same race (only diff parties fighting a civil war after wwii) at the end of the day. I guess some people just hate to see us having a peaceful unification, if there is such chance.

Right off the bat, you are wrong. I was there seven months ago. I saw what I saw. Do I need to show the stamps in my passport to justify my opinion?

Can't be arsed with the rest of your biased rant...
Absolutely. I do not understand how he was so biased. He is a Singaporean who had been there for 10 days at the time. I live in the city and I saw what had actually happened everyday back then.

@hktoffee claims this isnt happening.

But apparently im brainwashed and this isnt real eh @hktoffee

Erm...no. i am not Singaporean and I certainly wasnt only in HK for 10 days during 2019.

If you and @Mr. White are continuing to claim that there wasnt enormous police presence in HK during that time then you are both LIARS.

Absolutely disgusts me to the core.

Funny how the Saudis can spend Billions showing off, but do nothing to help their struggling “brothers” in different countries.

Well, I posted about this three years ago, so again, I hardly saw any police when I was there. On one occasion, I did see a large group of police, next to a coach on the outskirts of the city centre. They were clearly on stand-by in case of disorder. Kind of like police at a big football match... they were there if needed. They certainly were not 'in your face' or being aggressive. They were staying low-key in the central area so as not to be provocative.

What I did see everywhere was evidence of widespread criminal damage and violent disorder... paving stones and street railings were ripped up to be used as weapons. Traffic lights were ripped down. Underground stations were vandalised. Most troubling was the evidence of arson attacks at the entrance and within underground stations... arson attacks within an underground station is potentially a massive disaster and loss of life.

Guess what, police take an interest in widespread public disorder. Sorry if the truth disgusts you.

FYI, Hong Kong is one of the safest major cities in the world. Why? They are effective on strong law and order. I would swap their police for ours every day of the week.

Go there then, quick as you like. Bon voyage!

I suspect the 'coach' was filled with the mainlanders they were shipping over to attack the locals protesting, or "cockroaches" as the police referred to them. Or of course this 'coach' may have been a 'riot police' bus which were frequently used -- in public places in and around shopping centres during peaceful days.

When a bus full of riot police suddenly pulls up in front of a shopping centre and they swarm everywhere in a threatening manner, im not sure what theyre trying to achieve aside from causing fear and panic. They werent helping old ladies, rather brandishing weapons and yelling...at everyone.

Youre right about 'arson' attacks. Funny how these incidents mostly happened to occur overnight and small groups looking like police were caught on video at the scenes. Not to mention the attacks in the underground on locals by thugs with weapons, later seen on video with Government officials.

Guess what, perhaps rigged elections and taking away freedom of speech and democratic rights may lead to protests? Protests which were peaceful and enormous until being boxed in by riot police, assaulted and effectively kidnapped.

The 'vandalism' you speak of was an effect. On the other side, disappearing women (next 'seen' cremated), arrested locals (one i know of given a jail term for lighting a candle at a vigil) and locked down streets with dead bodies-- as well as a nasty violent Chinese regime using the typical tactics theyre known for...if covid hadnt happened theres no telling what damage the scum would have caused.

If you would 'swap' police forces with HK then you would be allowing a criminal gang to molest, assault, kidnap and do far worse to the general public -- there are no rules and there is no respect from them to the average human being.

Are you against living in a safe society, and in a country with strong law and order? Would you rather live in a society that is a police free and a crime-ridden cesspit?

Ive certainly never heard that used to describe China or its territories.

Youve also no idea about the amount of Chinese gangs all over SE Asia kidnapping and raping their own countrymen (and local women) before demanding ransom and still killing them. A simple google search and you'll see how much violence and terror this regime is pushing to destabalise other countries.

Countries halting long term visa options because 80%+ of holders were Chinese military aged and not where they were supposed to be as listed on their applications. A 10+ year visa program halted due to these rats.

Disgusting.
