I'm officially a knobhead and a ****fanlad. Why I hear you say? Because I'm a bit disappointed after that. Disappointed we didn't keep a clean sheet and that Vellios didn't get a run out.

I'm sorry Everton

Edit: My rep bar even says I'm a kopite. How lowly of me.

think he was booked for the foul on baines - shocked if he wasnt. anyway, i don't know why moyes let our best player ply 90 mins on a scruffy pitch vs a league 2 game when the game was over after 50 mins. anyway, no damage done, last of my ranting tonight, professional job done

He wasn't booked for the tackle on Baines. I can only reason that Moyes thought that there was a reasonable gap to our home match against Swansea, that he didn't want to disrupt our momentum and that he didn't want any slip ups. There were 32 minutes remaining when Coleman put us 4-1 up. It was virtually unthinkable that we could have lost or drawn the game from that position, so why was Moyes so cautious with his substitutions?

I think the subs were more about giving game time to players who are closer to the team. Both Naismith an Hitzel are lacking match fitness as well as still trying to find their feet in the team. Suppose it makes sense since they're the next port of call, not Barkley and Vellios.

good display and result, good to see Seamus on the score sheet, Naismith is looking like
an SPL player as every week goes by poor again tonite missed a sitter again

Naismith has played 22 games this season and Hitzlsperger's contract expires in three weeks.

22? Jesus they build up. He still looks a bit unfit though for me. Would you not agree? I'm guessing Hitzlsperger will be signed up 'till the end of the year at least. He's a decent player. Great cover and experience for cheap.

Yep, same amount of games as Jelavic. Virtually an ever-present, albeit often from the bench.

I just think he's a bit crap to be honest mate. I tried defending him early in the season for that reason, but fit or unfit he should be able to control an easy pass with his foot instead of attempting to with his shin.

If we needed Naismith and Hitzlsperger against Swansea Moyes would have no hesitation in using them. I think that the youngsters would have benefitted so much more from the opportunity to play today than the fringe players. We recently lost a good crop of youngsters in Baxter, Wallace and Forshaw. Duffy and Vellios in particular must wonder how they're ever going to get a chance if Moyes didn't have confidence in them at 4-1 up. The average age of our side against Newcastle was 30. We can't afford to keep developing young players for other clubs.

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but christ were Baines feet butchered up, props to him he's committed to us as much as anyone I've ever seen

Apparently with Baines & Coleman as full backs tonight, it's the first time in Everton's history that both full backs have scored in a game.

surely not. mind you we haven't exactly been blessed with scoring RB's. Steve Watson doesn't really count. I know coleman and baines both scored in the 5-1 over scunthorpe, guessing coleman was RM for that
