Yeah, the Marshall Plan after WWII was all about American domination. The aid given after the Tsunami, Christmas of '04 was all about taking over the region. Same with the aid sent after the Chinese earthquake a few years back. Haiti now.

Oh, and don't forget the BILLIONS we give each year in aid to foreign countries. Naturally there are strings attached I'm sure.

When other countries give aid and assistance, everyone says "Well done." When the USA gives aid, it's "well they're just doing it to maintain their status in the region or get a foothold in a certain part of the world."

I dont know about that Monty. I think he's right to be concerned about the U.S. operations in 'their backyard'. Anyone vaguely familiar with the US' past foreign policy in the region, and Operation Condor in particular, would understand Chavez getting jumpy.

No I did not defend them. I merely pointed out that they are the only network who made an effort at playing it fair. O'Reilly is a bit crazy right wing for me, as are most of the other anchors on Fox. Just like CBS and CNN are far to left in their 'news reporting'




Buses. Lots and lots of buses provided for transportation out of New Orleans. Hardly any of them utilized. I do remember lots of people refusing to leave, as shown on all the media outlets (including the bastions of the left in the USA, CNN). They made their choice to stay, despite repeated warnings. Effort was made, short of the National Guard moving in and physically restraining people and putting them on buses. But then you would be out complaining about human rights violations.
