Champions League should be our goal...

I reckon it could go either way with Sunderland to be honest. Fulham done it last year - there's always a little scrap for that last place....

And we can't write Villa off - they are now in exactly the same position as us.

The bit i highlighted in you post being worse of then we have been at the same stage in previous seasons.

Dont think so!

Starting the season without Yakubu, Arteta and Jagielka means we are in a worse position than this time last year. Ok, we now have Jo and we should'nt field so many youngsters from the start of the season as last, but we are shorter of numbers and have several key players missing.

And Fellaini, Saha, Hibbert, Baines and Pienaar fit.

Hmm i see your point though i guess we will have to go with the team that finsihed the season 5th and started the FA cup final then.

We we're blessed last season to be fair, everyone strengthed during last summer. :P

Done!

I didnt say we will get fourth i said we would be competitive for it. Am very confident though.

You do know if we beat Arsenal tomorow there will be people on here saying we could win the league.

Like ive been saying all summer, we have a lot of quality in our squad already, dont worry me and Moyesy know the storey!

Right, it's going on the sig (y)

Listen, Moyes will not put up with such a lack of funds for much longer. I do not believe we are punching above our weight but i feel we can only go so far. Breaking into the top 4 this season is asking a bit much to be honest although it is not an impossibility, but you can continue to be deluded if you wish if you believe we are in a better position now than this time in previous seasons.

Listen pal, and listen good because I am about to lose my rag with this thread.

The thread is about our goal and Champions League is our goal, it's not 5th, it's not survival, it's Champions League. Regardless of what money we haven't spent, we are still up on Arsenal who have sold more than what they have bought.

For the past few seasons teams like Villa, Spurs, Newcastle and City have outspent us, but we have beaten them all to 5th spot. Newcastle even got relegated.

It's about how we perform on the day, how the team spirit is, how the team gels. We have a team and a squad that know each other very well, and it is close knit.

We may well not get 4th, but we can't say that we won't. And you can't say I am deluded in thinking that it is possible because we already ******* well got there, in a season where we were tipped for relegation.

So all your arguments, and reality checks, and delusional posts and I'm talking to Azzbot also, are flawed because the reality happened, and it happened with a squad that isn't a patch on what we have at the moment.

ok?

Who are you? "listen and listen good". Get a grip mate.

Stop living in the past. This season is this season, not 4 years ago.

Who am I? I'm a true Evertonian who is fully behind the squad every single game and I don't plaster my signature with disparaging pictures of current players.

Who am I? I'm a fan who is optimistic about my club because I know it's not always about who spends the most money, that my friend is a hard cold fact.

4 years ago isn't exactly moons ago, it was fairly recent enough to suggest that breaking the top 4 was as hard then as it is now, but we did it and that is encouraging.

But please tell me, what is the goal?

No I won't.

I'm entitled to my opinion and I'm basing my opinion on facts, your basing them on predictions and who we have and haven't signed.

I follow football beyond the 90 minutes and I know that matches are always always won and lost on the training ground.

You can sign 10m players just to appease the fans, as Newcastle do, but that doesn't mean [Poor language removed]. Or you can sign the right players for the squad in order to maintain the equilibrium and harmony.

I think we need to back the side, because they are going to be aiming for CL and so is Moyes, and why shouldn't they? We have a bloody good side with some very very good players, and more importantly than that, we have a great team spirit, probably the best in the league.
