Central midfield vs Swansea

Howard
Hibbert-Jags-Distin-Baines
Fellaini
Coleman-Osman-Pienaar
Naismith-Mirrallas

Edit: If Jelly is fit than Coleman makes way for Naismith or Mirrallas.

Edit2: We could also throw osman out right push Fellaini forward and task Heitenga with the holding role..

We have options.

Neville should be right back only.

As for centre midfield at the moment, we need to drop back Felli into a deeper role for the time being.

I wonder how far off John Lundstram is from the first team.

Seems obvious. Felli back alongside Osman, with Naismith replacing him. The squad does begin to look very bare at that point though, especially if Jelavic isn't fit to play.

That's the thing. You drag Fellaini or Pienaar out of their current roles, and it completely changes the way we play. It's nice to have all this flexibility with players in multiple positions, but it's more of a burden when you don't have the numbers required.

Neville won't play centre mid against Swansea.

He might play rb but i suspect he'll be dropped. Now i'm sure plenty of you will claim moist never drops his favourites but thats not true, sometimes he does.

Very rarely but it happens. At which point they sit on the bench for a game or 2 but the very first chance moist gets in his head to put them back in the team he will.

1 poor goal, 1 mistake, 1 lost game, hell even 1 won game last season saw one of his boys straight back into the team.

He's not blind, he'll see how gash Neville was and he'll change it. But the change won't last.

You would hope this would be the case.

Seeing Neville and Heitinga in centre midfield on Saturday is far more likely.

What about Jags? He was awful last night. Will Moyes stick with him or put Heitinga in? Leaves the question of midfield if he does. With the way Jags is playing I would go with Heitinga at centre back with big wig and dare i say it, Neville (but only cause there is no one else) in defensive midfield. Ossy shouldn't be anywhere near a defensive midfield role.

Give Mirallas a rattle upfront with big Vic (oh the pain) with Naismith right wing.

I think Felli should stay where he is for now. I'd bring Johnny into midfield.

Lets be honest here....we should have been out of sight in the first half, and even when we weren't we still should have won. THen we would't be having this conversation.

But I agree, Neville was not great

Can we stop making Neville the main scapegoat, Osman was also beyond awful.

Neville and Osman are not the answer, whatever the question, honestly, if Moyes doesnt move Fellaini back into midfield he needs sacking.

No he doesn't need sacking he's the best thing that's happened to this club in over 20 years, you're clearly still angry (and have every reason to be) about the way things went, If we beat Swansea and Southampton, with Fellaini further up, he won't need sacking will he?

My XI againts Swansea would be:
Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines
Naismith Fellaini Osman Pienaar
Mirrallas
Jelavic (Anichebe if Jelavic is injured)

Of course he doesn't need sacking, but he does need to react to the needs of the team, both strategically and dynamically. If he can't see what every right minded ammature can see, or if he's failing to acknowledge it due to stubbornness, then he really needs to be asking himself some serious questions.

Ffs it's been 10 years and he still hasn't addressed the RB situation at the club.

Fellaini MUST be back in the middle of the park. Whoever else is with him almost doesnt matter, we need his idctating from the middle.

For me, Johny has to be back in the team. Especially is Fellaini is going to dictate from deeper, he links well with Johnny.
