Central midfield vs Swansea

I heard our left side was described as the best in europe by the scumbag last night. No reference to the central midfield pairing though :-)
It was very clear during the window that we were light in CM. Thats why we tried for Essien, Nzonzi and Ofoe on the last day. I guess we should have tried harder on the second to last day.
I agree we had all summer to sort the problem.
It is really bad management by moyes but a bad run of results will have fans giving him deserved stick.
I bet swansea cant wait to get at neville and osman come saturday.

When we bought Jags from Sheffield he was a quality defensive central midfield player who also used to fill in at centre back - scored some absolute scorchers from 20 plus out. I'd give him a go in CM. Also wouldn't Coleman give us a bit of movement behind Mirralas on the right hand side. With either Tony or PN at right back we will never be as good as we are on the left where all the play always comes from.

'Kin 'ell do you not remember how bad Jags was playing there when we signed him?

Mind you he can't be worse than Neville, can he?

Was it 3 seasons ago when we had a minuscule squad and tons of injuries, so for the first 3-4 games we had all sorts of players playing out of position and a load of pimply YTS 16 year olds on the bench?

Jags played DM/CM then, and he gave a master class in gashness.

Jags is absolutely not the answer here.

I've posted it elsewhere, but just move Fellaini back to DM and put Mirallas or Naismaith in support of Anichebe. It is so blindingly obvious it is ridiculous.

for me rb is still Hibbert, coleman is good going forwards but still not quite there defensive. hes nearly there but not quite.

another possibility though highly unlikely - move Distin to left back bring Heitinga in alongside Jagielka in CD, move Baines upfield (where let's face it he plays his best football though still a good defender, move Pienaar in besides Felli in CM (if memory serves me right they have played there before together and well) and accommodate Osman (as Moyes won't drop Osman and Neville) hovering behind the front line. It may also give us the option to bring Coleman in at RB as the 3 CB's could all shift across when he bombs forward and forsakes his defensive duties.

Also think Coleman and Mirallas gives us a potentially fearsome combo down the right.

:D this is David Moyes we're talking about - I think we'll be lucky to get just Heitinga in for Neville (or maybe Hibbert, as Neville is unlikely to be dropped) never mind such wholesale changes!

Plus Baines wouldnt be the same if he didnt have the whole pitch in front of him

Can't see Moyes dropping Neville or Osman, in the interviews i saw he was very pleased with the performance and the team v Newcastle. But there is a seriously long list of players I would start over "fizzer" in CM.

No need to mess round with the defense like that mate.

I like the Idea of Pienaar in the middle alongside Fellaini though. If that is the case you can have one of Mirallas, Naismith or Osman behind Jelavic and two of Coleman, Osman, Mirallas or Naismith out wide.

The options are there while our main midfielder is out, it’s weather (like others have mentioned) Moyes will use his options or go for the Osman / Neville combination which will see us done over by Swansea in my opinion.

Heitinga in place of Jags...
Fellaeni and Pienaar centre midfield...
Coleman on the right...
Oviedo on the left..
Naysmith in the hole...
Mirellas up front...

Problem solved except for possibly a couple of spelling mistakes...
