I think the harsh reality is that he knows he can't really do any better than the job he has, and he has a family, so he's going to cling to it all the way to the bitter end. People who didn't need the job would have just resigned and laid low for a bit. The fact he hasn't shows that he clearly thinks he needs this job and he's prepared to crawl through a river of crap to keep it any way he can

His job is the only thing that keeps him relevant, without it nobody will know who he is, bigging himself up, we all know where he learned that.

Exactly. My mate (a Liverpool supporter as well) who grew up with him said he's always been a tosser. This behaviour isn't a one off. It's a clear case of gross misconduct and he should be sacked.

I know it's been mentioned already but honestly, how can he do his job when he returns? Nothing he can say or point at on his giant iPad can be taken seriously. Surely just for that Sky won't keep him around for long after his return.

But I wouldn't be shocked if he stays on.
