On signings he is quite unique.
He has a 'recruitment department' (that's what he calls it) who firstly scouts the player but the main factor is their lifestyle in which his staff compile a dossier on what they are like on the training pitch an what they are like in their home life. Any sort of quirk on his checklist and he wont attempt to sign them. They really have to fit the bill and of course, he spends wisely.
He will not sign players to make up numbers, he says he buys to 'add value' to the squad.

When he talks, he is an inspirational figure who is a medias dream. He doesn't say the wrong thing, highly intelligent and manages shoulder to shoulder with his players.

On him attracting players, he lured Frazier Campbell down to the Championship for around £900,000.
Fought off Dortmund and Celtic for Kim Bo Kyuong (who is possibly our best player).
He brought Bellamy back, albeit, being a Cardiff boy helped.

He wins games and gets results, using youth and experience but he is always planning for the future so academy boys have had major chances.

I take no offense from you thinking he is the wrong appointment for you but he took over an experienced Manager in Dave Jones and took us into a new level in 2 seasons.

Are you his agent by any chance?

Cheers Grange.

I don't want him for the job. I don't have any particular reasons just a gut feeling it wouldn't be a good fit. And it is a very silly name.
Maybe if he used initials and rebranded himself Eminem I would feel differently.
Good luck next season.

Thanks for the info. Don't see any championship footie over here so not seen his style of play. Good luck next season. It will be good to see an all welsh clash in the prem. Keep posting on here. Be sure to log on when we're due to play Swansea so you can get to know Brian Swann. He's the finest poster on here by a country mile.

same looks the sort for the likes of the Sunderland/Fulham type jobs we should be looking for better, Periera or Martinez for me

Congrats on the promotion. About time Wales was well represented. Mckay is a good manger for sure. But Everton need one who will guarantee longevity, loyalty and professionalism, which I am sure he has, unlike Laudrup who is using Swansea for better things in Spain or Italy. But EFC need a manager with all those attributes and who also has Prem experience. My choice is Benitez when nutters Chelsea throw him out after him doing what they wanted of him. Benitez still lives around Liverpool, as his family never moved away, so loyalty and longevity assured. He would not be using EFC as a stepping stone as Martinez may be doing. There is a massive leap from the Championship to the Prem as the litter of Championship clubs who went down as fast as they came up shows. We need Prem experience with such a small squad and limited funds.

Surely you have the two names the wrong way round? Benitez would be short-term while Martinez would probably commit for a number of years. I don't want either of them particularly.

Benitez would guarantee longevity for the sound reasons I gave. Everton need experience to keep them in the top half otherwise it may be back to relegation zone gain season after season. I could not care if he was LFCs manager at one point, and they have slipped since he left for sure. He has been there, got all the T-shifts and wants to live in Liverpool. It all adds up. He ticks all the boxes. It did Billy not to listen to prejudiced Evertonians and use logic.
