Hi Lads

Firsty, congratulations on another decent season.

I have registered to discuss your feelings on the possibility of Malky becoming your new boss....

How would you feel if he did ?

I've read a few things on the forum regarding Malky and i've got to say, a lot of posts are completely wrong.

Malky is one of those leaders that gets the best out of his players. He, albeit a bit naive (which is normal for a young Manager), knows how to win games and his teams can play ANY sort of Football. I've seen a post suggesting we are a long ball team. We are a long ball team when we need to change our gameplan. Malkys teams play different styles to match who we are playing.

Budgets: In Malkys first season, he turned up to his first training session with 10 players and had to use academy lads and a few of Dave Jones' dregs from our previous regime. We finished in the playoffs and almost beat Liverpool in the League Cup.

This season, we spent around £11 Mill and comfortably got promoted. Blackburn spent £8 mill on J.Rhodes, Leicester had previously spent £10+ Mill so to win the Championship was a class act.
It's a tough, tough league that can ruin Clubs (Wolves)

On the basis of what I have said, we don't want to lose Malky as we are building things here and he is the man we feel, that can build stability and growth in the Premier League.

Wouldn't begrudge him leaving, as you're a huge club compared to ours so hopefully, Kenwright listens to your faithful and goes for Martinez.....

If you'd like to know anything else about how he operates, just ask

GrangeEnd

Thanks for joining mate. Cheers for the info. A bit of insight from other fans on managers is always good.

.....I don't think we are arrogant to presume that a manager from another club will drop their existing job for a move to Goodison. We have a great history and tradition and a very decent set of players to inherit, but anybody new will ultimately base their decision on the future direction and potential of his current club against that of Everton.

Not God enough for Everton you can keep him thanks. Cardiff have been a long ball team for years though, suppose you''re right on the huge knows how to win though. Although this Cardiff team should have been promoted years ago with the money they''ve sent. Was bound to happen sooner or later

Thanks for coming on here and giving some info mate.

I've only read good things from your fans about McKay (I had a browse of your forum) and I was very encouraged by the similarities with Moyes.

I must admit, I'm rather skeptical over him but what I've read has started to change my opinion. If people high up in the game respect and recommend him then what the [Poor language removed] do I know?

Hello Mate,

One thing that worries me is whether he would be able to attract the sort of players we need to push on, because he is relatively unknown outside these shores.

How do you think he would cope in spotting talent and getting bargain buys like Moyesie did ( mostly) ?

On signings he is quite unique.
He has a 'recruitment department' (that's what he calls it) who firstly scouts the player but the main factor is their lifestyle in which his staff compile a dossier on what they are like on the training pitch an what they are like in their home life. Any sort of quirk on his checklist and he wont attempt to sign them. They really have to fit the bill and of course, he spends wisely.
He will not sign players to make up numbers, he says he buys to 'add value' to the squad.

When he talks, he is an inspirational figure who is a medias dream. He doesn't say the wrong thing, highly intelligent and manages shoulder to shoulder with his players.

On him attracting players, he lured Frazier Campbell down to the Championship for around £900,000.
Fought off Dortmund and Celtic for Kim Bo Kyuong (who is possibly our best player).
He brought Bellamy back, albeit, being a Cardiff boy helped.

He wins games and gets results, using youth and experience but he is always planning for the future so academy boys have had major chances.

I take no offense from you thinking he is the wrong appointment for you but he took over an experienced Manager in Dave Jones and took us into a new level in 2 seasons.

Very interesting mate.

His approach to transfers sounds just like Moyes too. Perhaps an even better approach than Moyes.

I take him as maybe one for the future but definitely not ready for Everton yet.

I've seen Cardiff play about 5 times this year, I haven't been impressed with the way they play once. Saying that, it's results what counts and he got them.

Big step up for you, good luck mate.

thanks for the comments GrangeEnd. I definitely had a view of him as a long ball manager and that appears to be inaccurate. One of the key things for us in the next 2 seasons will be how the youth team is used. We need to have several of them introduced to the team, especially if baines and felli go. We have always thought that Moyes was a little cautious on youth, mostly understandably.

Like I said, his gameplan/style change every game based on who they are playing.
Eg, when we played Watford (a relatively small team) we played very direct, using our height and strength.

When we played Blackburn (A tall, slow defence) we absolutely destroyed them home and away playing on the deck. He is extremely modern, really into Sports Science, yoga and loves Michael Jordan. Uses him as his winning inspiration.
