Prayers needed please lads. As a few will know I posted a few weeks ago on this thread about the irrelevance of finishing this season in the context of the COVID impact on our ordinary family with some members voluntarily serving on frontline in NHS. Well our worst fears are now with us for real. My sister in law was diagnosed with COVID earlier this week at the Cheshire hospital where she works. Her condition has worsened dramatically since. She’s a mum of 2 young evertonians and she’s super fit and healthy. Paramedics treated her today and so now it’s over to Mother Nature and prayers for next 48 hours.
All the best mate. I hope your sister in law recovers quickly and your family is healthy.

Hope she gets through it mate.

From the Daily Mail:
If the PL season is abandoned, then CL places will be decided using UEFA's coefficient system (based on the last 5 years).
Liverpool, City, plus Arsenal (9th in PL) and I'll give you one guess who else...United of course.
Spurs, Leicester & Chelsea for the Europa.
Arsenal who are currently 9th! & United? Throw in City's potential ban and guess what?
You have the original SKY top 4 back in action...

Who the hell is going to go for that?! Madness.

Fingers crossed and best wishes mate.

Crap idea. Of course UEFA will not even thought if abandoning their revenue - sorry - the leagues yet so likely this is just made up crap to fill a newspaper. Like the other 90% stuff they print.

Nah, If Man City were to be banned then Spurs, not Chelsea would be in it.

wishing the best for you and your family bro,

Honestly if they try to complete this season after any more than a 3 month gap I think i'll pack in with going and paying for TV. Not in a seeing my arse way, just because i'll have no interest in it. Leaving it that long and then 90% of the games being dead rubbers would be ridiculous. Apart from the obvious I can't even remember where everyone is in the league, i've genuinely got no interest in the rest of this season, even less so if the games are behind closed doors.

Going the game is a habit. Once you've broken it it's quite easy to give it a miss. If a new season started i'd get that little bit of hope that I always do so i'd probably buy another season ticket. If they restart the league from where we left off then it'll likely be 12 months since I went to a game by the time there's a meaningful game on. I doubt i'll be that bothered about going by that stage.

Best wishes to her and your family. We should all be so grateful for what our healthcare staff are doing on our behalf.

More broadly though this could well happen with the international audience. It has to be a factor in the PL decision making.
