Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

This is the worst shout of all. So lets put people at risk and if we run out of time we will just stop and nothing will be decided. FFS.

At least half the clubs in the Premier League will push for the season to finish on July 1, even if it does not leave enough time to play all the remaining games, in what could be a pivotal shareholders’ meeting on Friday.

While there had been a collective desire to finish the season, however long it takes, club executives now fear that the matter of expiring player and staff contracts is becoming impossible to resolve. “We are in danger of entering chaos territory,” a club insider told The Times

The fact you could end up paying thousands to out of contract players, who then may not even be required as the season gets binned anyway is just totally ridiculous.
No wonder teams just want it binned off now they have realised this.

We don't want to be paying anything for let's say Cuco Martina, after June 30th do we for example.

there is a similar in a couple of media outlets that There is pressure to finish before the end of June as they’ve discovered “temporary premier league agreement don’t trump established employment law“ . I mean discovered , imagine that coming as a shock to these halfwits , actually it probably did to some of them .

What will annoy me is if they come back just for a few games to get the Tory bed sharers over the line, then stop again

I think that's exactly what they'll at least try and do. I'm confident that if the rs won the next 2 games and then another team said a player tested positive for Covid and we had to shut it down all over again, they'll all be clamouring to end the season and hand them the title

We are only up to 15,000 tests a day.

20 squads of 25.
Add manager, assistant, specialist coaches, physios etc.
Add all other peripheral personnel and I reckon you are looking at 100 people per club.

That's 2000 tests just for the Premier league before every game.

Just can't happen.

Imagine the uproar if health workers and sick people are denied tests to facilitate football.

Imagine if Liverpool are awarded the title or win it? By the time they are allowed a parade, it will belong to someone else.

Haha o yeah.
The main reason for me it has to void is the inbreeding idiots will take to the streets to celebrate with a parade. The virus is already big in Liverpool because of them playing that last Champions league game

Hopefully Norway will have a travel ban

I tell you what, that Karen Carney spouts some foaming gibberish...

People have talked about giving the title to Liverpool too because they were going to win it but they have the right to win it properly. If they were just to be given it, you know full well people would say they were the team who 'did not really win it'.

Well yes, you complete balloon - of course people would say that, because they DIDN'T win it! And what's this 'they have the RIGHT to win it properly'? Who gave them this 'right'? If we're going on what our rights were before this situation happened, I would have 'the right' to head to a crowded gig, then take myself off into a pub afterward where I could get absolutely hammered before getting a taxi home with three mates. But I don't, so I don't.

Shut up you dozy twonk!

Oh Yeah. Dundee Utd are the champions, SPL here we come. We were miles clear and fully deserve our title. Bow before us you bunch of losers, this title is the sweetest title we could ever win. Organise the open top bus parade, we are the greatest team ever.

In reality, while I am pleased we are getting promoted, it does feel very empty, not just against the backdrop of what is happening in the real world, but that we won it by a vote rather than on the pitch.
