Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

If the league is restarted whenever, how many on here would have the appetite to go to our remaining home games not sure I would.

I'd go and be excited probably for the first one or two, but after that? I don't know.

We're at that stage now where we'd usually be looking forward to the summer, getting excited about signing someone and then getting that 'going back to Goodison' in August feeling. That wouldn't be there and It'd ruin the rest of it for me.

Was pre season all sorted ?
Can't recall what was confirmed ?

Nope. Better things to do with my time and money now.
Missing out on my grandson's birth and lord knows when I will get to see him has brought life in general down to earth with a huge bump.
Football can do one.
My family comes first.

Yeah not seeing my grandson is killing me, FaceTime him a couple of times but not the same, he's can be a right pain in the arse and ruthlessly takes the piss out of me, but boy do I miss him, don't know when I'll get to see him.

I keep reading of these meetings of stakeholders about the plans for this seasons remaining fixtures
Yet nowhere do I see where fans are being asked what they think , what we want? What we think of the plans?
Are they even aware that most fans are becoming more and more disillusioned with football as it is now? Do they even care?
The season is dead. I dont care about it anymore. I am not excited by the thought of it restarting. It is not a competition worth my time.
Yet they will stop at nothing to carry on

Their reaction is all about money, nothing about health and welfare of players fans, employees etc.
It disgusts me.

Money is the be all and end all, in a sport that once dominated my life.

I hate the modern game. Detest it. I have done since the Spice Boys / brand Beckham days, which took the playboy footballer lifestyle into loathsome new territory, of which the game has never fully recovered from.

Top 4 / SKY 6, mega agents, half arsed players walking around the pitch, yet we all follow our teams out of blind loyalty.

And now the virus comes along to pull back the curtain on Oz.

I will always be an Evertonian, but I have not enjoyed following Everton for many years. The game needs a wake up call.

Hopefully this period of real crisis will see that materialise. And if it doesn't, I can see many walking away.

Latest supposedly idea is clubs warned of a 2 week turnover from this season to next.

Utterly ridiculous.

Millions of pounds worth of footballers being rushed back and risked to play while a deadly virus which is currently claimed it's biggest numbers yet plus a Prime Minister.

You can't put a timescale on this
That would enable Liverpool to win the league.
Then play their rezzies for rest of season.
Give their first team a break and a proper pre season, no doubt a lucrative tour or something too, and be ready to fly out the traps when next season starts properly.
Whereas other sides will be struggling to stay up / get European places etc.

It's the perfect scenario for LFC and therefore most likely option.

i just cant see the season resuming unless there is a vaccine in place which could be months away

scientists are now saying those who have been infected with covid-19 have been re-infected again due to dormant cells or something

how can any player / fan be 100% confident that they don't risk getting the disease if they attend a game of football

at Goodison there will be at least 40,000 fans and you are telling me all of them will be free of infection without a vaccine? no chance

what if a footballer refuses to play because he doesnt want his health to be put at risk? what happens then

there is no way this season is finishing its all a deluded dream

Reading this thread just echo’s my thoughts, I have no interest in the sport anymore. The greedy bastards have swallowed themselves.

If they’d done the right thing, pulled the plug immediately as football is just not important to allow the country to get through this issue just imagine how excited everyone would have been when the time come for a new season to start.

They’ve literally destroyed the game for many with their greed this time.

It's starting to feel weird going for a walk these days. Went for a walk with my son earlier (I hadn't been walking for about 10 days) and it feels odd people walking in the road to avoid the odd person they see walking along the pavement. A few weeks more of this and I'm sure it will change many of us for a while. Going back to sit in a stadium of 40,000 people could feel quite peculiar when this has passed. I do miss Goodison though, and the people more than the matches really.

But, but, fresh air low transmission rates at stadia say the medical 'experts'...

Wouldn't catch me at a stadium until the risk is substantially lower. Which could mean playing behind closed doors in the early part of next year.

They should be planning "hopefully" for next season, this season is done for me,I don't want to be watching us in empty stadiums in Azerbaijan or somewhere, just bin it off and if not voided leave the standings as they are, harsh on the relegated teams but these are harsh times unfortunately.............oh and the Tricky Reds will forever have a dirty great asterisk against their "title" lol
