Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Its defo going to happen isn't it?. I bet once they've got their required 6 points they will put their feet up and not try making a mockery of the whole thing when other teams will have a European place up for grabs. As long as they are ok that's the main thing though isn't it. Luckily I haven't had to be in work to listen to a blag LFCTV version of events every day from people who have been to Anfield less than me.

The most Everton thing of all would be beating them in the derby with about 20 people there in person.

A derby win to try and lift the gloom when football returns would be a good start.

Er, no, the non-LFC fans are insisting the league must be voided BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE DYING. The fact the Crimson Crap would be denied a title their fans so desperately want, no matter what the cost, is simply a delicious -- and yes, hilarious -- bonus.
Why do you care whether the league is voided in these precarious times?

Are you serious? Because there are far, far more important thing to worry about and playing football isn't one of them. Why do you feel it shouldn't be voided? Answers on a postcard, please.

Yep, would prefer it to be in front of our fans given how long we've waited for one, hopefully this time the TV coverage doesn't go off when we score the winner!

I read through this thread a lot about voided an not voided. Me personally would rather things got back to normal it means Liverpool win the league. More importantly it means people have stopped dying. I think what we all want is football to come back when it’s safe an ready.

What we don’t want is behind closed door games just to insure Liverpool win the title. I think trying to finish the league if possible is fair enough but if it isn’t possible. They shouldn’t change the rules an in my opinion delay voiding for so long that it would impact other seasons.

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope all goes well.

Thanks. Look I get it that the thought of the RS being denied the title is funny but not under these circumstances. The Gerrard slip was hilarious and we've all dined out on that gem for a long time plus the Karius final.

But we are looking at the RS potentially being denied a piece of metal on the backs of thousands of deaths and the torment of countless families.

After this nothing is going to be the same.

Spot on with this. People need to take their club rivalries aside and think of the bigger picture. People are saying just void the, season but the logistics behind that would be a nightmare. Plus there is no guarantee next season will even start.

I want thing to go back to normal and the season to resume as like you said it means things are getting better and people are no longer dying.

I'd take the RS winning the next 10 titles if it meant this [Poor language removed] virus was gone and people were not dying anymore.

The more I'm seeing on the news about the daily deaths and the more I see these Tory [Poor language removed] stumble their way through it with the "Things will get better" bullshit while the NHS is on it knees, NHS staff not having the right ppe and now seeing NHS staff dying is making me even more angry and people solely concerned about if a football league should be voided or not need to have a word with themselves

10 years of Tory austerity has finally come back to bite the country in its arse and people are dying as a result.

Let's focus on the right things guys and do what the city of Liverpool does best and that's come together and be there for each other.

Liverpool are recording some of the largest daily death tolls in the country at the minute.

Stay safe everyone and take care.

Hypothetical situation...

The Premier league decides to restart the season in August. The remaining fixtures are played in August and September. After a weeks break the 20/21 Season just starts up again start of October with little break.

The transfer window has to open for at least a month (October).

Thing here is, transfer negotiations take time (lots happen before even the media get wind of transfer talks). Players who would normally spend the summer knowing they're on the move, will now have no time. The first month of the new season would be dominated with players missing games as they await a move to a new club.

Also if a club has say 6 players out of contract in June... 2 are key players, 4 are deadwood they're happy to be getting off the wage bill....the club I assume can offer a 3 month contract to the 2 players they want?... but then maybe those players have already found a new club so don't want to finish the season with their current club..

Do Liverpool finish the season in New Balance kit, or switch to a new Nike kit?..
