Burnley Case

Apologies if this has already been explained elsewhere but I'm struggling to understand why we are the "defendant" in this case.

Burnley's argument, from what I can make out, is that the points were deducted from us a season late and if they'd been deducted in the correct season then they'd have stayed up at our expense (circumstantial at best because if the points deduction had galvanised us like it did the following season then there is no guarantee we'd have gone down even after a deduction).

Either way, we didn't choose when to have the points deducted. That was the process/rules in place at the time as dictated and governed by the Premier League. So surely Burnley's case should be against them, not us?

Deserves a lot of credit and respect for this report. It is excellent imo.

The more that’s come out of this the more it stinks to high heaven. Make no bones about is this is/was the PL trying to nail us in view of the potential independent regulator and because of our stance on the Sly 6. Let’s not forget the red cartel picked Masters as their own puppet.

The original panel was designed to properly “do” us. No doubt about it. Masters asking for a 16 point deduct, the panel “throwing out” his methodology and then using it. We should have foreseen a war in Russia, ignoring we couldn’t sell Gylfi. All very reasonable counter arguments. But not when the panel chosen by the PL are influenced by the PL

Let’s not forget, this original panel was highly criticised by subsequent panels and embarrassed by the appeal process. They found us guilty of something we weren’t charged with FFS and applied a points deduction to it. Let that sink in. We were found guilty of something that wasn’t on the “rap sheet”

They also contradicted the PL law book in their findings. A core principal in the PL is you can’t sue each other or apply for compensation. Yet they created a new rule for Burnley. The fact they’re allowed to hear this is utterly scandalous

Even in this one, it’s littered with errors as everyone has pointed out including the “expert witness” that just so happened to work for Burnley

However the one that says this isn’t a fair process is denying us the very reasonable request to put the £40 million in Escrow pending appeal. A reasonable request based on the fact Burnley are worth £62 million but owe £100 million meaning they’re at risk as a going concern and we worry if successful we won’t get our money back. A straight No. It’s as bent as it looks.

Last point is a huge point. Investigation needed, and why has it been paid?

No, that's not their case.

They aregue that we were benefitting from a sporting advantage during the season they wen't down. Nothing to do with when our points deduction came.

They went after us originally to avoid the government introducing an independent regulator
This is the correct answer. The PL is terribly corrupt, and when the government talked about needing an indepdendent regulator, they were desperate to keep that from happening. We were the scapegoat, and we were SUPPOSED to go quietly. The fact we A. Did not go quietly, and instead exposed even more corruption angers them, and B. The fact we lead the fight against the sly 6, and were so vocal denouncing it.

The sad fact is until the rest of the league grows a pair and removes Masters for new leadership, this will probably keep happening. I have no doubt PGMOL have their instructions on how to treat us and right now the other 13 clubs are willing to idly sit by because it keeps attention away from them. In cases like this the herd usually realizes too late that letting one fall means the rest will come after.

Everton Football Club - Funder of other clubs self inflicted financial problems after recently being relegated.

That is what is happening in a nutshell no matter how insane it sounds.

You know it seems very clear that this same panel who have already proven to be incompetent again went into this tribunal with an already agreed outcome and then just tried to bend everything towards that goal. That is why some of it looks absolutely ridiculous to 3rd parties looking afterwards. Because it is ridiculous.

This is the new no sporting advantage, isn't it?

Why isn't everyone suing Chelsea for their recently confirmed illegal payments to players and agents during their successful spell? Points they took off teams could have prevented trophies and caused relegations.... This seems a potential massive can of worms here.

And what about forest, their overspend was bigger than ours (even though they got a lesser punishment) are any of the relegated teams suing them?
