Pity he was fortunate that he never had the "pleasure" of meeting the Special Patrol Group in the late 70s or Maggie's army at places such as Orgreave in 1984.
Or was at the poll tax protests in London.
Would probably be sat at home sticking pins in his Scargill voodoo doll, telling anyone who'd listen that it was the miners' militancy that was the cause of all this, rather than the kettling tactics and the excessive use of force by Police.

A guy I know went in the day and stood in the park and said people were distanced and it was well behaved by everyone.

He thinks different people, who weren't even at the day event, came out later to take advantage. He is pretty annoyed about it.

Well, I’ve already said this was a daft way of protesting it last night, and that Johnson, his government and its supporters would spin this as a reason why the bill is needed, so that first point is completely wrong.

Nor was anyone condoning what went on at a couple of BLM demos; the point I was making was that the majority of them weren’t like that.

As for statue vandalism - that was always illegal; that’s why that bloke who decapitated Thatcher in 2002 got three months.

In terms of low level assaults on emergency services workers - the increase in the maximum sentence probably won’t have much effect, as substantial assaults (above ABH) will be charged as such as they’ll be easier to prove.
So you agree with what you describe as utter crap.

no, I don’t - what you posted was utter crap, for the reasons already specified
I am not convinced that you understand what you are thinking, and when you go off on one of your unobjective dalliances your bias comes screaming through. As such, I leave it there but maybe you can attempt to stop trying to be right regardless and think about what is wrong in what you are saying.

I agree with the mayor, the cretinous actions of the rioters were ‘pathetic’ and ‘politically illiterate’.
“What they did last night has nothing to do with the needs of people in this city or in this country... It’s just selfish, self indulgent and self-centred behaviour that’s all about them living out their fantasy of being revolutionaries.”

Well that is just completely risible.

If the government wants more power to silence protest, then in my mind, I ask why? What are they planning to do that needs them to stifle the ordinary citizen's protest?

We're marching towards an authoritarian regime and I find it highly worrying that this is the path we're going down.

Take it as compliment when they cant play the ball the right always start to play the man instead.

Anyone believing that lockdown is being vigorously followed now is in la la land.

Once you send the kids back to education all measure become virtually pointless and most people with the common sense they were born with know it.

You fascists are always looking to defect, divide and wrestle control, aren't you. Your jackboot style might go down with other members of your Gestapo but you will never prosper in the UK!

Is this sarcasm?
I think so. If I am understanding the game the rules seem to be if someone doesn't explicitly agree with everything you are saying on a particular topic then they must be the total opposite of your political position, or something bad. I'm just applying the same echo chamber logic.

A lot of members of the public seem to be on their side too.

I wish I had something pithy to say about that, but it's all too worrying.

We are as a nation, seemingly obsessed with shooting ourselves in the foot rather than reaching out and embracing all those within and without of the country.
