Ive assumed he meant barrister (?) does that seem about right?

I thought they were on far more than that -- maybe as a starting salary...

I think the mean average for barristers pay in the UK is about £50k

I’d say the average defence solicitor, who isn’t a partner probably earns between 40k - 50k.

If you crunched their hours, compared to their earnings, they are quite poorly paid.

The CPS solicitors ( prosecution ) probably earn less.

The days of the law being a gravy train, other than for a select few are long gone.

I used to work at in legal aid dept where we paid the advocates bills. It really isn't that great considering.

Or on the morning that the trial is due to start, a plea deal is accepted.

Lawyers will defend whoever providing they be paid no matter how guilty or innocent they are - the whole profession is largely a vultures nest and its hilarious seeing so called "liberals" defending them.

I oppose the elite but unlike many on here I can see the woke left for what they are - wolves in sheeps clothing who just want to be the ones doing the oppressing once they topple the current oppressor.

They aint no better they are far more dangerous.

What about doctors and nurses?

I remember the CPS barrister for a trail I was involved in. Turned up hungover, stinking of booze with her makeup all over the shop.

Waited around for hours to be basically told the Crown has offered the defendant to plead to the lesser charge which they have accepted.. you can go now.

This was hours ago by the way but forgot to tell me and left me sat there for half a day..

The defendant was out of court well before I was.
