As a mass gatherings, which are completely banned by Covid Guidelines, can we start tear gassing and batoning playgrounds?
Against freedom of the press now as well...No sympathy whatsoever.
Dont play with fire and cry when you get burnt.
Did they send in the dogs against the journalist? Genuine question as I haven't been able to open that video on my phoneTheir violence towards journalists doesn’t suggest they were being particularly targeted in their attacks

Don't think so. Also, not just one journalist 'confronted' by police. More widespread than the one widely shared incident.Did they send in the dogs against the journalist? Genuine question as I haven't been able to open that video on my phone

Really keeping that centrist flame burning!
He said he was a journalist and showed them his press pass, as others did to the police. Didn't stop them getting battered.Lets be honest in the heat of the moment if he's stood in a crowd of hundreds with no form of ID with carnage going on all around how are the cops meant to know he's a journo?
"Bububu ee's got a camera doh lad"
Yeah like hundreds there recording.
Not saying its right he got caught up in it but thats not intentional imo.
The other one the girl was breaking Lockdown, not wearing a face mask and refusing to move so got telt. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

"In the heat of the moment I couldn't control what I was doing" isn't reassuring as a hallmark of policing.
If that girl not wearing a face mask and refusing to move had been killed by the police punching her in the face, can we just out it down to 'mistake'? I hardly think punching someone in the face is a 'mistake', so much as an assault.Police are human like the rest of us in the heat of the moment they may make mistakes.
The reporter was stupid mind getting too close to the action - would you stand in the middle of a gunfight trying to be Eddie Brock??
What did they expect? these people go out and protest and are constantly told to go home and play the rebel and then are shocked when the police take action. Don’t agree with violence but how many times have they been told to go home over the space of three days and attacks on police cars and buildings etc.No sympathy whatsoever.

It’s crazy, I havnt really been keeping up with whole thing but correct me if I’m wrong, they are protesting about the right to peacefully protest (in general)? nothing about that protest looks peaceful to me.Apparently they are above the law / rest of us.

And the protests were, if you look at timelines from last night, seemingly peaceful until police decided to disperse the crowd. There was no indication from the video of the reporter he was 'in the middle of the action' but still managed to be 'confronted' by police.
War reporters and those reporting on war crimes must just be asking for trouble eh?
That obviously was intentional but that girl only had herself to blame. She's protesting illegally and refusing to disperse when asked numerous times - what are the police meant to do particularly when she's shouting in their face not wearing a mask?
What if that girl gave that copper Covid and he died???
