Which wall??????????

Ive been going the game for about 40 years, I've never been battered by the Police for football hooliganism.
The point we're trying to get across Goat, is that a minority (or very few) of the protesters causing agro. doesn't make them all culpable.

They, imo, have valid concerns regarding that particular bill, and they're really in a catch 22 situation trying to highlight it during Covid restrictions, but what choice do they have if the government are trying to push it through before they're lifted? Besides, it's almost as if they were being antagonised to be given a bad press and create popular support for the bill.

  • Changing sentencing rules so that serious criminals spend more time in jail before they can be conditionally released
  • Judges will be allowed to consider jailing child murderers for their entire lives
  • Maximum sentences for low-level assaults against emergency service workers doubled to two years
  • On terrorism, the bill creates powers to more closely monitor offenders released from prison
  • Community sentences for less serious crime to address underlying problems in offenders' lives
  • Changes to sexual offences law to tackle abusive adults in positions of trust, such as sports coaches and religious figures
Some parts of the bill are good tho.

If they had stayed at home instead of organising mass protests for their cause of the week throughout lockdown then there wouldn't be a bill for them to protest against.

Quite, but that's not all of it, and probably why the sensible stuff's bundled in with it.

So you don't believe in the freedom of protesting about something openly provocative?

Muslims have the right to practice their religion how they see fit. They do not have the right to demand a teachers sacking and threaten people violence when non muslims choose to live their lives against the will of 'Allah'.

This is not a muslim country, if they want all drawings of Muhammed banned then go and live in Iran. If they would rather live in a country where they are actually free to have the right to protest then they should pipe down and shut up.

Muslims want their cake and eat it.

I just think theyve given the government an open goal.
Not really mate, there are plenty of powers they can use as it stands.

We need the right to protest, especially with this government, we can't all afford to donate a few grand to the Tory party, lobby, or maintain a PR campaign to protect our interests, those of our country or locality.

Hard to imagine, reading these pages, in what circumstances people are actually 'free to protest'.

If there hadn't been multiple mass protests while people were locked down watching their families dying then there is no way they would have tried to push through this bill. As it is they think there will be a groundswell of support for it.

Not true, they have the powers under Covid reg's as a consequence, no?
