I would say what Paul said covers that,he said we don't need to sell, those players have not asked to leave,if we got capital invested into the club we'd be more competitive and those players may achieve those ambitions
I think if we got that capital investment thus leading to us becoming more competitive and potentially meeting players is key. I acknowledge what you and Paul say in this regard. But, in the meantime we're vulnerable (like a lot of clubs) to players wanting to step up in quality and play at the very highest level. Until one of those options Paul mentioned comes to fruition, we will have the sames issues time and again when we have a talented player on our books. I'm as frustrated as anyone at the stagnation and lack of an obvious plan at our club.

Correct mate,I think Paul made that prediction to stan collymore when asked if he thought either of the options he gave would happen in the next five years and Paul replied "no"

It is annoying that on both occasions, he hasnt been able to expand his points, either due to phones dropping off, presenter rants, and presenter ignorance.

Will be ace when/if he is afforded the courtesy.

Sadly its hard to see anything else at the moment mate. We can only live in hope, and it really shouldn't be that way.

I totally agree mate,I listened to the original on talksport and was hoping they'd allow him to further his views on the whole matter,I wouldn't even bother with the 5 live show as I have no respect for Ian wright or anything he represents

Investment capital is quite different from 'moneys received from player sales'. The latter is not investment capital but rather 'divestment proceeds'. It's impacts working capital...and working capital is analogous to changing the oil on an old banger. It will keep it running, but it won't improve it. Investment capital would be buying a new car...a more productive asset.
I suggest @the esk 's interlocutor in that clip is unfamiliar with the nuances of different types of business capital.

As I'm currently banned from the board thread I thought I'd put this fascinating little snippet in here. I seen Oliver Holt tweeted his support for Bill Kenwright this evening, turns out Emily Bishop from Coronation St is Oliver's mother.

How did I not know this
tweet him and tell him nosey Norris gooses his ma

5 Live actually gave him more time to chat, it seemed so anyrate, and Kelly Coates (?) was pretty fine, it was when it became apparent that Wright was so out of his depth about the difference between having to sell a football player and raising capital for a football club that it all went south.

Collymore was just a plank. But when Paul told me his phone dropped off, his rant may have been a way to fill dead air perhaps.

A suspiciously large amount of Esk content here, I think he's pushing to be the new Everton spokesperson

Haha not at all mate, I actually want this thread to be the place where anyone can come to listen to any Board related content on the radio, not just mine.

Think it's also important to note the views I express are mine, not those of Everton nor this site.

Myths and legends – A look at Everton, Bill Kenwright and the fans who want him out

I put a well written comment on the page of that article. All of course saying what the guy didn't mention, Power8, Fortress Sports Fund, 2 failed stadiums etc etc etc. No surprise that they didn't post it. That's the most annoying thing with the mainstream media, they have their point of view, yet dismiss other points of view. So it's fairly obvious that straight from the beginning this is a biased article for pro-kenwright.

The other annoying thing with the media, is that they make statements about something they know very little about. It's unbelievable how these people gets jobs. They are uninformed and do very little research. YET they swing opinion with their sh(t articles

And an article in the Irish Independent.....

Banner boys unfair to Blue Bill's Everton achievement

The anti-Bill Kenwright banner Everton fans flew over St Mary's on Saturday was very disappointing.

I think most Everton fans are used to being disappointed around transfer time. This summer I have been very happy with Everton's transfer business. They didn't spend much - no surprises there - but no players were sold either.
