I’m impacted by this and while I agree to some extent @Lanolin, the issue is there is no direct public transport from these areas like there is to Goodison - even a bus. As @Furey1878 said, that is a huge amount of traffic to add to the additional high numbers of people that are heading to the city centre.

Can’t be that hard for Stagecoach to throw a few soccer specials. Not as if they don’t charge for them is it. A new bus route doesn’t have to run every day.
No I get that, my point was just there can't really be direct transport to the ground from everywhere can there? Realistically having to go to town or Bootle or just getting to somewhere where you can then pick up something more direct isn't 'unfair' or anything, that's just life. It would be great if you could get everywhere you ever wanted to go with the minimum of effort but it just isn't how the world works is it? Not being funny by the way, I totally get what you're saying, I just think we have to be careful not to confuse the potential real issues of cars/taxis etc not being able to get near the ground and Sandhills not being able to cope, with more trivial issues like having to change buses or whatever.

Understand you’re not being funny - no worries there.

But these issues don’t exist within a vacuum? Lack of infrastructure from a large area of the city loads more capacity on cars, taxis and Sandhills.

It’s not really the fact I’d have to change buses - a bit annoying (especially on a Sunday) - but more that I’m being pushed to go out and come back in via routes that are already running at capacity. So matches when I’m planning on having a drinking means that I’m increasing capacity on the limit transport route in. Night games and Sundays when public transport in the city is pathetic, I’m increasing capacity on parking.

This is where Goodison and Anfield both thrive. You can get practically anywhere in the city through individual routes and major roads.

Two match day public buses that run down the East Lancs and Queens Drive could potentially ease a huge amount of strain on the other routes.

Update:

We hope you are well.

We have received an update from Liverpool City Council from our various emails and webform requests in the last fortnight or so for them to clarify the situation around parking for blue badge holders at our new stadium. The response from them is below:

“In the first instance, Blue Badge holders should follow the guidance given in ‘The Blue Badge scheme: rights and responsibilities in England’.

Where one hour limited waiting is allowed in Permitted Parking Areas (PPA zones), Blue Badge holders can park for as long as they need to, but they will need to clearly display their badge.

This is in addition to being able to park on yellow lines (unless there is a loading / unloading restriction) so long as a valid Blue Badge is displayed along with the blue parking clock and the vehicle is not causing an obstruction.”

Therefore, much like at Goodison on matchdays now, blue badge holders will be able to park within certain areas (excluding the hard road closures - those roads immediately around the stadium) within the restricted zones as long as they are following the procedures in the guidance document linked above and any local restrictions in place, which will be shown on signs in the area.

We will provide further updates on the onsite club managed parking spaces, further shuttle services and park and ride schemes as soon as we have any more information.

If you have any further questions about accessibility matters at Everton, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes,

EDSA

Enquired today about a parking spot in St John’s School on Fountains Road. Google says it’s 35 mins walk to BMD, prob do that in 25 - 30 minutes. It’s 18 minutes walk from Sandhills Station. The way I see it, if I have to queue for at least an hour in the pen at Sandhills before I even get on a platform may as well walk the extra 18 minutes to the car and then home. Season pass for £190 so a tenner a game, pay that anyway at Goodison at Alsop school.

After Monday night I ain’t getting involved in the chaos that appears on the horizon with the train.
We've been trying to get ourselves a spot there for next season, but we've been told to wait until the end of this season for details. Is there any chance you could drop us a DM about how you enquired/ got in touch with them? A season pass sounds ideal really.

I was coming out of a big car boot once & old Joe on the gate had one of those in a general colour by his chair - I stated to him sorry Joe you have ended up in one of those .... he said no just purchased it early am off one of the stalls - for going to all the pubs most nights as I won't get done for Drinking & Driving on the way home on the pavement - typical scouse nouse

Could they just not put on football bus specials from 2 easy access spots in town - Lime street etc 1 hour before the game & after the game at BMD ?
Say running every 15 minutes? A number of buses - that would be income for the council?

Where are the buses dropping off?

The whole place will be a car park for 5 hours matchday.
