Went for walk from Liverpool central, as I found it very doable from the city centre. Mind you, the weather was very fine for December. Not too cold, not much wind and no rain. So all in all the ideal weather for a nice walk through an historic area in Liverpool I never been before. Can totally understand it won't always be an attractive option given the weather though.

There is a big train-less void where I grew up in Norris Green. That affects loads of areas, Croxteth, West Derby, Wavetree, Old Swan, Childwall...

I'd like to see some better shuttle bus services on offer. As basically telling everyone who doesn't live on a trainline to either go out of your way to get on one (which will push the capacity limits) or go the the city centre first aren't particularly great options imo.

You'd imagine a ferry service for the squirrels is a no brainer.
I do get what you're saying and I'm not saying that some services shouldn't be introduced to give more options, but I do think it's straying into entitlement territory to expect like a door to door service from every part of the city. If you have to go into town or somewhere else first to make your way there then that's what you have to do isn't it, we can't really expect the club or the council to get you directly to the ground from wherever you live.

I do get that mate. But from a traffic and capacity POV, do you really want to funnel everyone who doesn't live on a trainline to town first? Basically if there were any train lines that went out east from the city centre I wouldn't even bring it up.

I parked on love lane as my dad has a blue badge, he does struggle with his knees especially in the cold. My dad’s mate though, his dad is over 80 and disabled and he couldn’t walk that.
The council have totally made a mess of the transport and parking situation. The club only have 52 disabled parking spots, yet we have 1000s of disabled fans and public transportation during match day ain’t disabled friendly. The council need to sort it out.

I drive so may well be my only option. Don't mind the walk to be honest. If i take my father in-law he likes a walk so hoping that the Stanley park parking will still be open. Means I still get a cheeky pint in the winslow

My proposed shuttle bus routes to aid non-train scruffs, keep Sandhills capacity down and divert traffic away from the city centre.

I will be running for Mayor this year.

Enquired today about a parking spot in St John’s School on Fountains Road. Google says it’s 35 mins walk to BMD, prob do that in 25 - 30 minutes. It’s 18 minutes walk from Sandhills Station. The way I see it, if I have to queue for at least an hour in the pen at Sandhills before I even get on a platform may as well walk the extra 18 minutes to the car and then home. Season pass for £190 so a tenner a game, pay that anyway at Goodison at Alsop school.

After Monday night I ain’t getting involved in the chaos that appears on the horizon with the train.

As far as I know - very long time ago, there used to be a market in the old dock market, which is now being made into flats I think, behind that is/was dedicated parking for probably about 500+ cars(?) (Great Howard Street)

That was very well policed and had traffic wardens handing out tickets every Sunday. But there WAS parking spaces.

I’d personally want to drive + walk. As close as I could, it’s a limitation we had at Goodison, we had to park in Anfield or whatever and walk, this problem is bigger now cos the ground holds more people.

I can’t walk from any of the stations, plus if it’s gonna be rammed people like myself who can neither stand or walk for long will be goosed. If I have to it’s park and ride from the station & walk, but that’s a last resort.

I really want to see what the EDSCA say before anything, disabled people are more disproportionately impacted every single time.

But in short, if you can walk, and bus/train, that’s your best option, if you can’t - your fate is the hands of the council and the Club.View attachment 295724
So poorly planned, a lot of fans moaning (me included) that we have got it bad but I hadn’t really stopped to think how poorly impacted anybody with a disability will be.

Criminal actually how hard this will be to manage for the less able, it should be accessible to everyone and if it isn’t someone should answer for it with some concrete shoes in the river Mersey.

I hope the council come to there senses and start to put things in place but I don’t think they will.
