Ha.

The general defence the Kenwright backers have is 'But look at Leeds! But look at Portsmouth!'

It's never 'Look at Chelsea! or 'Look at City!' or 'Look at Arsenal!'.

The man is a blatant liar.

I'm amazed Goodison is still standing, Kenwright said it was losing it's safety certificate years ago. Care to explain that one?

The man was going to move us to a flat pack stadium in a Tesco car park and even then it got laughed off by the government.

As I've said, he is a stain on our proud history. Hopefully it can be rubbed out in the coming years.

No its not. The general defence is that it could have been a lot worse, and it really could have been. Realistically he has done an average job but people seem to think that he should have done loads of fantasy stuff that has no basis in reality.

The overreaction is laughable. I am getting used to this though as our club has changed.

Could have been worse is not a defence.

I'm judging him on the things he HAS done, you're judging him on the basis of other clubs predicaments.

Your 'defence' is laughable.

Given the cock-ups on his watch, had he been a just a businessman with no ties to the club, or a red like Peter Johnson, imo he'd have been chased out years ago just like Johnson himself was.

He's used his undouted Evertonian credentials to his advantage over the years...and Goodison STILL hasn't lost it's safety certificate as he said live on tv way back in 2007 was going to happen.

I never said he was perfect. He himself admitted he was unsure if he was up to the job. Maybe he's just lucky the way things have panned out, but, regardless of what went before, the future has not looked so bright since the time we were Champions and yet to be banned from Europe. You might say the bright future is despite Bill being Chairman but at least allow the man to bask in how good things have now become under his watch.

Out of interest which chairmen/owners have done a better job at there clubs in over the period of time that Kenwright was in charge at Everton?
This very question was asked a while ago on here and the best someone could come up with was Doug Elis.

You judge him on what he has done but what are you basing your expectation on?

I am not defending anything though. I am being reasonable saying he has been pretty average. You are acting like he has personally slighted you or something.

Of course I am going to base things off other clubs. It is a measurable yardstick. Fantasy chairmanship where people are saying that he should have sold to non existent buyers or we should have bought players with money that is not there is not.

I don't think anyone is doubting that he is a fantastic evertonian and person. Still a terrible businessman and chairman for Everton but
