Bill gets a free pass from me.

Deep down he wants this club back where it belongs,he knew his limitations so brought in Moshiri.

He lied to you on telly about Goodisons safety.
He lied to shareholders when parading a sham to them in the shape of Samuelson.
He banned AGMs.
He funded GfE when the offial club line was to move.
He tried to move us into a supermarket car park in Knowsley.

I mean, I could go on but ddo you really need any more???

Kenwright is a romantic. That's both his strength and his weakness. You can't have one without the other. Personally I think he's been more good than bad. In the age of mercenary owners, he gets Everton and that's worth a lot. His speech at Anfield to the Hillsborough families couldn't have been given by anyone else.

Why is that?

Why is that?

The Hillsborough speech? go back and watch it. It's personal biography (used to go see both Everton and Liverpool when Everton were away because his beloved Uncle was a Red), the Dave Hickson story (his favorite player, played for both teams). The fact that he was at Villa Park on the same day, and understood if the balls came out differently it could have been Everton at Hillsborough. It's pure theater in the best sense of the word.

Yes I remember the speach, the Liverpool fans were laughing at him at the point he made when Davie Hickson made his debut for Liverpool v Aston Villa, saying there was 10,000 Everton fans in Anfield that night, I was at at the game, it
was an afternoon kick off 2-30pm, I also remember Ann Williams, who represented the Hillsborough Support Group.
a smaller group and different to the one who invited Kenwright to give his speech, looking at him with scorn when he got up to give the speech, a look that said ' where have you been for the last twenty five years'.

A typical oration by Kenwright, lots of words from his mouth, very little from his heart, in my opinion,by the way did notice from that talk that he went on the Ko, as a very young boy but went in the boys pen at Goodison, he also said he got lifted
up from the front of the Kop UP to where his uncle was, I've been in the Kop 100,s of times, seen thousands of kids
handed DOWN but never UP, as I said a typical Kenright speech, but if you like him and his speeches you are more than welcome to him.

The crowd received him well enough. If you don't like him, you're welcome to that opinion too. I'm neutral on Kenwright. I see positives and negatives.

Go on. I'm calling your bluff. Now squirm

Sooner he's gone the better. I also don't trust a bloke who supposedly sat in the Kop as a lad, Peter Johnson got pelters for being a Kopite and I get the older generation would often go to both grounds but still your not a true blue in my eyes if you could stomach sitting watching that lot in the pit.

He would make a great politician, lots of talk very little substance. Then throw in the typical politician lie, I can't believe we have sold a record amount of season tickets for next season to play in a ground which in his own words is not safe and would fail health and safety checks. Unless the cladding and new toilets have somehow made the ground safe.

So,on your say so, after watching Everton through thick and thin since 1948,on my uncles shoulders, to mostly on tv today (cable on the dialysis machine wouldn't stretch to GP from Wigan, and I'm a bit fragile these days but still working at 76) and years ago going to watch Tranmere on a Friday night, and the RS on a Saturday, if I couldn't get to Evertons away game, you're telling me I'm not a true blue ?
Three words.....Go to Hell.

..and when Bill and myself were lads, you STOOD in the Kop, you didn't sit. Been 'a blue' very long?

Check with Health and Safety. Work was needed to maintain the Safety Certificate, it was done and the Certificate granted.

As I've said before I don't trust him as far as I could throw him. Anyone who can tell you they are the biggest blue in the world but then pull the stunts he has & oversaw the multiple failures but kept hold of the club out of his depth for his own personal ego is a bit flakey in my eyes.

He spoke way too fondly of the Kop aswell, as I said it was a generational thing but you don't gush about it like Billy has.

What do you know about Bill Kenwrights 'heart'? ...and for 25 years BK had been looking after his own club, not the RS. You might just as well ask Stevie G why he wasn't helping Everton out. BK was heavily involved with the Hillsborough families, in the same way as he has been with young Bradley. There is plenty to criticise most football club chairman about, but there is one thing about Bill K that cannot be denied...he eloquently expresses the true spirit of Everton when circumstances require. Dave, you say you've been on the Kop hundreds of times....do you realise that according to Rhinos post above, that means that YOU are not a 'true blue'.?
