Billy's future

Bily should be shipped out asap. He seems a good lad and he gave us a couple of boss moments, but he's been a waste of resources that we can scarcely afford.

He needs to be played in his proper position. The lad blatantly isn't a winger, christ knows how Moyes can't see that.

Square peg, round hole. Got talent but not cut for the prem.

Will never be a first team starter. He'd be better off moving on and wed probably sell at a loss

We'd be lucky to get half what we paid for him now. With that in mind it might be best to hang on to him another season and see if he grows a little next season. Its not like he's a bad player he's actually very talented, i just think he needs to adapt himself a little better than he has.

At 26 he's approaching his peak, and i've got this horrible feeling we'd flog him to somewhere like Malaga and he'd become an absolute star, before moving to Inter for 5x what we sold him for.

If some mega rich Russian club fancies taking him off our hands then he can go for me. I really wanted him to do well for us but he's struggled to come to grips with the premier league and if we could get most of our money back then we'll of done well IMO.

play him off the striker, give him a run of games. It annoys me that every single one of our players has to prove themself defensively, no matter what position they play. Most other teams judge their attacking players on how they actually attack, not by how committed to tracking back they are. Bily doesn't look good in our team for this reason. He finds himself in dangerous positions because, essentially he's an attacking player. It's like buying a ferrari then getting annoyed when your shopping doesn't fit in it.

He's one of the few players in our team with an eye for a through ball, and practically the only one who doesn't want to walk the ball into the net.

His concentration lapses. He looks lost for large chunks of games and weve never fully utlised his crosses.

I think playing off a striker would benefit him and his talents because he won't have defensive responsibility.

BUT that will never happen, Moyes has even said so, but it still might not make him a stand out player. He's terrible when he's got no space and is closed down quickly because his decision making is not quick enough.

Unless we change how we play for next season, he's never going to make it

This sums up how I feel

I am a fan of Billy because he has great technique and vision something Everton's current starting squad lacks. His brilliance has shown on his tick-tack passing with Osman and Baines. I agree, he is not a winger and that he should be playing in a reserved striker role especially if Beckford or Saha are hurt and Cahill is playing as a lone striker. He is too good to sell for what we can get for him.

Do you see him playing in Osman's spot in Carling cup and FA cup fixtures? If so he gives a player that many teams would love to have fill in for their "less meaningful" matches.

It's not though is it? Especially if you factor in Moyes likely won't see all of that. I don't see the point of selling Bily now at a loss to replace him with? Are we really going to ship out Bily, Yobo, Yak and Vaughan just to bring in one decent player? To me that sounds like madness.

What would we be losing though? Yobo hasn't been an everton player for the past year, neither has Vaughan, Yakubu's been away for the past 6 months and Bily's been a benchwarmer, the fact that we could get around £15m for all of them is blooming fantastic however much of it Moyes gets!

Hes got talent but i dont think he has the physical or mental agility for the Prem - its currently a class above him - i hope he rams those words down my throat.

As a club we cant really afford to have a 9mill asset on the bench. He will be three years into his contract next season im not sure how long we signed him for but it generaly 4 year max contracts players sign - we may be in a weaker postion if we hold fire.

I often think 6 months out on loan to Wigan or Sunderland or something would be good for Billy - not that i could see it happen mind.
