Besides the usual collapses when it looks like we are going to do something,I'd have to go for the Kings dock failure, that could have been a proper game changer

Exciting in what way?

I found the football boring, slow and predictable in his second and third season. There was a spell in the early part of the 15-16 season where we did alright. Barkley did well, Deulofeu was providing assists all the time for Lukaku, and we dished out some hammerings to Villa and Sunderland. But they were poor sides and that was the main reason, and for me the wheels came off completely in that 3-3 at Bournemouth. Even in that Sunderland game, I seem to remember us going 2-0 up, and then giving away some poor goals for them to get back to 2-2.

Obviously his first season was excellent and one of the most enjoyable in the Premier League era for the supporters.
I'll start by saying We became boring and sideways when confidence was shattered towards the end, I was certainly fed up by that point, for sure.

But during Martinez tenure we actually gave the big games a good go and showed an account of ourselves. Got some good results along the way. We dominated games more than I've seen from Everton in the past, and I saw some of the best footballing goals from Everton during this time.

I miss the days where Geri was playing in some naughty crosses and sublime through balls.

In the second season, we had an extremely good run in the Europa. We dominated the likes of Wolfsburg etc. I found this thoroughly enjoyable and I may be one of few who actually like seeing Everton play in Europe.

I was fuming with the Kiev result because it was a capitulation, especially when we had done some well in the comp up until that moment. We were good enough to go through.

We also made it to two semi finals, and whilst this is nothing to shout about ultimately.. it gave me hope throughout the season that maybe we could do something. In typical Everton fashion we collapsed obviously.

Last season under Koeman we did get some major results, the arsenal and city games at home were delightful. But the football overall is so dull and we got booted from the comps straight off the bat. We worked all season to get into Europe, and we are flopping that already.

For me it’s what came after the first Martinez season (I compile them into one awful cesspit of a time). This season, we all knew that even with the players bought the best we could realistically get was seventh again, yeah we’ve been crap but with a brand new team it’s hardly suprising.

Personally after that first Martinez season I thought we had an innovative young European coach who had overcome our weak meantality and would make us competitive. How wrong can one be eh?

The lack of anyone, anyone at all, with any bottle in a blue shirt! I am so tired of watching half men-half jellyfish turn out for us each week :/

The '09 final is still my biggest disappointment for my generation. Villarreal was and still is tragic to even think about but that day in London, with the excruciating heat, going absolutely looney when Saha scored, then watching it all slip slowly away, it still really upsets me to even think about.

It's the main reason I despise Osman and Hibbert so much. Neither should be allowed to even buy a ticket to Goodison for any game, never mind kept on for 7 more years on fat contracts.

You shouldn't have joined if you can't take a joke...and / or...If you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined...It's a saying about the inevitability of things you have no control over and can't avoid.
The 'joke' being you didn't join you were conscripted...(or in our case chosen)
and at your age you must've heard it before and be familiar with the concept.

You were happy until the last line - well good for you and soz abar me...as they say on here
and I WAS serious.
weather report; Very cold up on the moral high ground today.
I think I misunderstood you and, as a result, you misunderstood me.

I suppose I was just saying that I can get a lot of pleasure as an Evertonian even when we're not winning silverware.

Could go back to the second replay League cup final against Villa but in more recent times the worst has to be Villarreal, just so excited and then nothing...

That one doesn't bother me as much because we were beaten by the better team in my opinion. There have been loads of big games where a team has been there for the taking and we've failed. The Man United Semi Final the other year was a good example, we had loads of good chances and Lukaku missed a penalty, and then we conceded in the last minute. Sums up the Everton i've supported most of my life.

Failures and cowards in big matches where we're the underdog, which is funny because whilst I was only young, I remember watching the 95 Cup Final on TV where our team were the underdog that day but they stood up to the task and got a surprising win.

The short answer is most derbies where we should have been winning. Rodgers last game for example where we just matched their crapness, any time we had out tails up and then gave up. The semi final as well, we were winning and we were the better team and still we just waited to lose rather than play like a team who thought they could win.

I suppose one big let down as a fan has been every single time we have had something to cling to it amounts to nothing. Finish 4th, straight out of Europe, cup semis and finals, no trophies, best young player for decades at the club, finish 17th, spent a lot of money, no team, get a genuine top striker, finish mid table etc. It allcjusy repeats itself , there hasn't been one moment since 1996 where we as fans had hope to keep to, just let down after let down every time we have something positive to get behind.
