Did she not leave to join a terrorist organization? Apologies if I am wrong on this but I thought that was illegal?
As the current legal position yes, but:
Interesting that the new Counter-Terrorism and Border Security Act makes a specific law against traveling to designated areas which would be applicable in future instances, but cannot be retrospectively applied.

I'd also note the UK widened the counter terrorism strategy Prevent’s remit to cover the rehabilitation and disengagement of those already involved in terrorism, which would apply in this instance.

Joining a proscribed terrorist organisation that would gladly see the execution of everyone (including you) in this country.

I mean, play the ''im all about the 'due process' '' card if you want but let's not portray her as some poor ickle misguided angel.
I'd want the due process if she were British adult who had gone out to join ISIS, however, can't get away from the fact she was 15 when she went, although she bares some responsibility for her own actions but she was a child. It's been well reported, long before Ms Begnum became news how sophisticated ISIS were in grooming young people, so I have some empathy for her situation, not enough just let her back mind you.

Indeed, almost certain she will come back to the UK unless Bangladesh flip there decision, I suppose a bit of cheque book diplomacy might move them to change their minds.

We need to stop this intolerant nonsense. We are supposed to be better than that. This is Britain for heavens sake. Let this young lady return.
