It’s a tough one, IMO.

Personally, I’d allow her back in, under strict surveillance.

Should somebody’s life be dictated by decisions they made when they were a brainwashed 15 year-old child? I don’t think it should.

She could even be used to help the government understand why these young Muslims felt so isolated in their country of birth, that they had to move to Syria.

Bombing hasn’t worked, has it? It’s time to open a dialogue.

Would you sit next to her on the Tube mate ?
Or at a concert ?
If she had a rucksack on her back ?
Knowing who she is ?

She ran away to join ISIS... Not the circus.

I said under strict surveillance.

She was a child when she ran away, she is still only 19 years old. She made a very bad decision as a child, but is she a lost cause?

What good is sticking our fingers in our ears and not listening to these people achieving? More and more lives are lost for nothing.

I think we should find out why, and how, she was radicalised in the first place.

ISIS targeted young Muslims to radicalise for a reason, they’re children who are very impressionable.

I also think she needs to evaluate her press soundbites in her quest to return. Shes not 15 now and suggesting that the Manchester Arena bombing of the kids was ok as a parallel to Syria airstrikes will not help her cause. Her "...whatever" indifference adds to that.

She doesn't seem like the sharpest knife in ISIS drawer does she. Ideal radicalisation material. Sadly. She's entitled to come back and therefore probably will. The baby will go into care away from her and her family though.

This is point though. Where does this ‘strict surveillance’ come from. 24 hrs a day ?, 7 days a week ? At what cost ? These things are not free and they take masses of effort. If the powers that be seriously believe she needs surveillance then leave her where she is, if they don’t then let her come home......

Oh, and if someone decides she can come back and she ever does anything, then lock that person up with her, together with her lawyer........

As far as I know We can’t stop her pete so it won’t be anyone’s fault other than the government who have failed to introduce anything that could prevent this situation developing . Please don’t imagine I’m defending her I’m not and I’d happily see her punished if that’s appropriate but we can’t arbitrarily decide to ban a British citizen from returning home without a basis in law .

Indeed. But there must be some basis in law. The USA always seems to find something. Tbh I can’t take parole boards that let killers loose who then do the same, I am of the opinion that those that let them out are equally culpable......

It's mad how quickly you're prepared to disregard the law of the land because you don't like the idea of something.

Seeing as she's got no problem with ISIS' punishment methods, send her back to Raqqa as an ISIS traitor and let them deal with her.

Keep the baby of course, that poor thing has done nothing wrong at all. Get it into care and let it have the life it deserves.
