Broccoli, always Broccoli.
All brassicas are amazing.
Except Kale.
Obviously.
Got to be onions... think about it.
Bhajis, cheese and onion, hotdog onions, onion rings, steak and onions, French onion soup, need I go on?
I'm growing both broad beans and kale this year.
I've gone for Pentland Brig variety of Kale which sounds quite promising. It obviously starts in the standard way, with lots of bitter leaves (I'll have to try your way of cooking it), but then the magic happens in August. It sprouts broccoli-like spears! Looking forward to that.
Fresh broadbeans are one of life's treasures, picked straight off the plant. Supermarkets must keep them locked in a shed for a month because they don't even taste similar.
