Howard won us a few games with some excellent keeping, Tim Cahill had a super end to last season but has been subdued for much of this season - also Bainesy has been very consistent. The 3 main candidates for me however are: Stevie P, Jack Rodwell and Louis Saha. Louis has been excellent - scoring some excellent goals and Jack is clearly becoming a big star, but, by a very small margin I'm going to give my vote to Stevie P who has taken on the extra responsibility of being the creative fulcrum in the midfield in the absence of Mikel and has excelled - by and large.
