Has he played there much before? Maybe he'd need to bulk up a bit.

So many options. I'm not used to this. Getting confused and morose.

still like him me yanno despite his injuries, was spreading the ball well yesterday

deffo a good player in there, it's just finding what position and keeping him fit

I'd like to see it given a try at least, if he can do a job there it would be very useful with all the upcoming games this season so that's a valid reason not to just sell him off like many want us too.

He's definitely a good player, he just needs to find a set role in the squad, have a manager show confidence in him and, most importantly, have more luck with injuries.

I think we'll definitely move 2-3 on once we've brought in our targets.

If I were a betting man I'd say he's being given minutes in a position where he's less likely to pull a hamstring. Build his fitness & cash in. £15M & a wage tied up in an injury prone player who's now 5th choice doesn't make sense.

My fave player at the club and I think he should be in midfield. He is clever and technically gifted enough to play most positions, my only worry about CB is, he likes to run out with the ball and he only has to make one mistake and get caught with the ball and the he will get the backlash Stones did.
It's interesting to watch and he certainly won't be intimidated, I don't think he would have lasted 45 mins against Costa, he would have snapped Costa in two by half time.

he's staying...RK fancies him before injury and after...he's not going to buy another CB this summer and use him there from time to time and CM...versatile player, would be mad to let him go with the extra games we hope for

I really like him as a player and I think he really fits Koeman's style but I don't think he's capable of playing as a CB in the Prem, I know there's other smaller defenders who have gone down as all time greats like Cannavaro & Puyol but neither played in the Prem, this is one of the most physical leagues in the world, I struggle to see how he'd be able to go up against strikers like Kane, Morota, Lukaku (feels weird saying that), Llorente, Benteke, Deeney, Giroud (if we don't sign him) and potentially Zlatan. Especially in the air.

I know he's a yard dog and will fight for anything but he's not going to be able to compete with these big strikers in physical battles, long balls or raised crosses/set pieces.
