Beckford to Leicester? Yakubu to Forest?

It's difficult trying to fairly value Beckford. Long went to West Brom for an initial £4.5m by comparison. He's 3 years younger than Becks and a full international....oddly I've just read that Beckford is planning on representing Jamaica. Anyway, I digress, I think £4.5m-£6m is probably a fair value for him too. Three mill would be closer to Anichebe's worth.

Would I sell Beckford? Hmm, on balance, not unless they were offering really good money. We'd find it really tough to get a decent replacement in at this late stage. We don't have many options upfront as it is, so we'd need a really compelling reason to let a forward go.

I wouldn't part with Beckford, especially at 3.5 million.

As of right now, he's our best striker. If he's played and started more regularly next season, he will definitely be at least a 15 goal striker for us.

They have some cheek offering us a paltry £3m for beckford. What do they really think we are that desperate? Have our board sent out fax's and emails saying he is available? I can't see Beckford leaving us for them unless Moyes has said he doesn't want him which i doubt.

The thing is with Leciester it seems Sven is just throwing bids out every which way in the hope of having them accepted and that no one else bigger throws an offere in just like with their bid for Long. He's like a 12 year old playing FM whos used the editor to give some sh*t no mark club lots of cash and then tries to bid for everyone.

They could not afford Yaks wages who was for sale (or maybe yak wasn't keen) it seems to me Sven thinks anyone will play for his revolution

Or shows how weak we are at the moment that a club like Leicester can/want to bid for one of our 1st team players. Not loan, out right buy.

You wouldnt see that with Spurs or the RS.

What do you mean how weak we are?

Where in any of the press stories have we a. acknowledged the bid or b. accepted it.

I'm sure its on Leciesters end this 'source' sky understands.

We won't sell him to them. We are poor but Moyes is still in control and won't sell his first team players otherwise we would have sold Rodwell and Jags the two most sought after players according to the media.

Plus no player in a prem first team will drop down to the championship

I think the point he was trying to make is that other Clubs think we are a soft touch and try it on with stupid bids in the hope that we need money BADLY.

See Yakubu to West Ham.

Id be annoyed if i was the Yak.

Sadly the one Leicster didnt want would prob play for us this season.

It's strange that they want a 20 goal a season striker for £3m, but the Yak doesn't fit the bill. He scored 11 goals in 20 games for them, which would work out as 25 goals over a 46 game season. We're obviously not going to get anywhere near the £6m we've been asking for. We'd possibly accept as little as £3m just to get him off the wage bill. Perhaps Sven is looking for someone younger and more mobile?
