As many others have said, its the owners. I'd happily own a pup of any of these 'dangerous' dogs and it'd never be any trouble.

If the punishment for owning a dangerous dog was hard enough people whould stop bothering with them. Make the owners truly responsible for the actions of the dog and it will stop. If its written in law and everyone knows it, the problems will fall. Obviously that won't stop the problem completely but for the few nutters left serious jail time would sort them out.

Change the law so that owners are made 100% responsible for their dogs actions in an "eye for an eye" way. If their dog sh^ts somewhere and they don't clean up after it then someone goes into their house and cr^ps on their carpet.

If their dog is left alone for hours and barks and howls then the owners are punished by waking them up in the middle of the night every hour.

If their dog barks at people and scares people then the owner gets scared ****less just when they're not expecting it.

If their dog attacks someone then the owner gets thrown into a cage full of hungry hyenas.

If their dog kills someone then, no ifs, no buts, the owner is executed.

I love dogs and, properly trained, there are very few truly dangerous dogs. It's the owners which are dangerous. Perhaps all dogs and their owners should, on any first offence, be neutured? That should sort things out.
