I think what Martinez did today has backfirst spectacularly, he's done himself no favours and he's alienating himself from what few fans he has left.

Think he's also increasingly alienating the players! Wonder if he's made Lukaku apologise for his comments re Champions League etc, I suspect not - he can potentially drop Baines but won't dare drop Rom!

Is it that Bob has actually lost the senior players or was Baines speaking out of a mountain of frustration? I realize the both are inextricably intertwined but is it a chicken or egg kind of thing? Does it matter?

For words like that to fall out of Baines' mouth... An impeccable servant of Everton and one of the most respected (and quiet) players at the club. Then for Bob to come out and paste it over in such a ham-handed way. Just accept what Baines has to say, address it and move on. You'll get nowhere appearing to strongarm a diamond like Baines.

With that public put-down of Baines, Martinez is now finished at this club... He's lost the fans, the media, and now the players...gone in the summer. I just hope the senior players pull the team together for the FA cup, because Martinez and his piss-poor coaching staff have no clue whatsoever.
