Should this even be voted for? Surely it can just be introduced as mandatory..?
Should never been a referendum should have been whatever's party policy as not many majorities will willing surrender their born advantage in life, non first Australians are no different...

'Doing good' as an insult.Do gooders don't get their own way and everyone else is a racist?
What a load of nonsense.
It's OK to disagree.
Oh wow Star BarI’m in the ‘Gon mate, currently having a Guinness at Star Barare you from nearby?
I don't think you understand what it was they were voting for, the history behind it and the implications going forward.Do gooders don't get their own way and everyone else is a racist?

Small world. I know your cousin, he wanted to book me for some gigs not long after he opened! We often have a cocktail there before dining at Eviva or Dal Mondo.Oh wow Star Bar. I left The ‘gon in 2013. Grew up in Morwell and then Traralgon. Some family still in town and my cousin owns the Benjamin on Franklin so you should be doing your drinking there.

A very small % of the population who already get a disproportionately high amount of assistance were set to be given a blank cheque.I don't think you understand what it was they were voting for, the history behind it and the implications going forward.
My cousin is a she. There was a guy that was part owner but she bought him out not long after opening. The bar manager that used to be there has just left and started a band called Cordiform which seems to be getting some airplay. Made some great cocktails.Small world. The only pubs that serve Guinness and open on Mondays (which is my day off) are Star Bar and Ryan's...which despite new ownership is still Ryan's, therefore I'd rather sit in Victory Park with a goon bag than drink with all the One Nation voters.
I've been gigging in the Valley since 2004 so there's a good chance our paths have met before you moved away. Not many Evertonians around here either. Did you ever play football? I played for Traralgon City and am still involved at the club.
Oh right, yep it was the guy that booked me when they first opened. Didn't realise he'd been bought out. Is your cousin Briana? My cousin is a she. I used to frequent Ryans way too much when I lived very close to it. Star Bar was never a favourite.
I played for Fortuna mostly but played 1 year of u16s at Traralgon City when both our teams did not have enough players to field a team in the mid 90s. Also played a couple years at Olympians in 2nd div and reserves.
I do know some Evertonians down there but you are right that there are not many at all.
Yep Briana is my cousin. Yeah Brody was a good barmen.Oh right, yep it was the guy that booked me when they first opened. Didn't realise he'd been bought out. Is your cousin Briana?
Brody is the former bar manager, he used to work at Flanagan's, I know him pretty well, nice lad. He used to play in a really bad death metal band, glad to see him playing decent music.
Also I'm good mates with some of the boys at Fortuna, Hanlon, Carlin, McCafferty etc. Mad what a small world it is sometimes!
A race of people treated disgracefully for hundreds of years, who's life expectancy is 20 years below a Caucasian's, who is more likely to go to jail, be poorly educated and suffer from worse illnesses. The idea that a sizeable majority of Australians didn't want to look to help their weaker members of society says a lot about them as a nation imo, and also a little bit about you as a person.A very small % of the population who already get a disproportionately high amount of assistance were set to be given a blank cheque.
Unsurprisingly it was rejected by a sizeable majority of Aussies.
Most countries around the world would have voted the same.
The Yes campaign did a poor job of selling the change to most Aussies. Also, given that they, like many others around the world right now, are going through a cost of living crisis the timing of this wasn't great. Many voters have more important things to worry about.A race of people treated disgracefully for hundreds of years, who's life expectancy is 20 years below a Caucasian's, who is more likely to go to jail, be poorly educated and suffer from worse illnesses. You stink of Brexit. The Yes campaign did a poor job of selling the change to most Aussies. Also, given that they, like many others around the world right now, are going through a cost of living crisis the timing of this wasn't great. Many voters have more important things to worry about.
The No campaign kept it simple with the slogan of "If you don't know, vote No". It worked.
Also, implying that someone who is planning to vote No is uneducated, or a racist, probably wasn't the best way to go about persuading them to change their minds.
Finally, I know quite a few Aussies who are neither uneducated nor racists. They have told me many reasons why the people in question aren't entirely blameless where their current situation is concerned. Maybe you should do a bit of research and find out what goes on in some remote Australian communities? It might help you understand why the majority of Aussies aren't that sympathetic to their plight.
