I think it goes to show that being a bit of a mean spirited git isn't determined by family migration history or skin colour.

We’ve had this debate for years. It’s not immigration that is a problem, immigrants who come here invariably add to the U.K. The problem is that those who apply legally are effectively pushed to the back of the queue by those that arrive illegally. Whatever studies are done, invariably the majority on the boats are young men, and now appear to be from countries such as Albania where there are no wars or need for asylum. People have no problem with families from war torn or oppressive countries. I’ve said before that we should welcome people from around the world but just do it in a legal and fair manner and not allow criminals to exploit the situation. …..

Well except you can’t get on a flight without a visa , so in reality they’re shutting the door on any asylum seekers apart from Ukrainians or the couple of hundred that qualify via the specific available programs in Afghan & Syria .

No intention of this law actually ever coming into force as its so obviously flawed.

Its not like that would stop anyone. Look whats happening at Africa-Italy route, didn't it last week more than 50 people drowned (mostly kids ). Here through Balkans there are routes used from Turkey toward Austria and Germany, hundreds of people are being locked like animals in trucks and smuggled. Not to mention thousands trying to cross borders, being beaten by border police and turned back.

From what i know, main target on this route is always Germany/Austria.

If you're from Uganda and LGBT, you could come to the UK to claim asylum and be criminalised because of how you arrived then deported to a country which borders Uganda.
