I think you missed the point completely.....
Pretty sure I didn't. Pretty sure you are now pulling a different tactic just to justify your comments. You do this all of the time.

Accept you are wrong on this one and stop pretending you are the voice of reason or some sounding board.

You have done nothing but irritate people with your stupid uneducated comments

Now come on Prev, of all people, you should understand that in trying to heal a populace, sometimes people, who some think should be serving life in prison, are sometimes given an ‘amnesty’ even if it sticks in the throat.....

In this case, healing can't and won't begin until the Republican party rids itself of this lunatic fringe and also tells the religious right to pipe down.

The day after inauguration the coup leaders need to be rounded up and interned. Anyone resisting arrest terminated. That's the only way Trumpism is consigned to the dustbin of history.

Nice one Dave, I spent ages trying to get them to forgive and come together as a United people and now you’ve set it all back to ‘hang ‘em high’ ffs......

Do I have to go back to the Jeremy Corbyn analogy? Or the neighbour that breaks into your house and kills your kids analogy?

He incited a riot in the nation's capital to overturn a democratic election result. Who exactly are we trying to heal divisions with? The very people who won't accept a democratic outcome and instead carried out a riot and killed police officers? What do you think is the more likely if they didn't impeach him:

1. Donald Trump will quietly shuffle away and his supporters will lay down their arms in the spirit of healing
or
2. Him and his supporters continue with their lunatic nonsense.

What is the point of impeachment laws if you don't use them for what is probably the most impeachable offence we've ever seen a US president commit?

I like to think we can find an option between @peteblue‘s ignore an attempt to stop the transition of power and forget it all ever happened and @davek’s ignore due process and imprison or kill them all.
TBF, I do support detention and trial to the other option. But the nature of the people being dealt with is that many have a death wish, and I'd sooner they went down before anyone trying to arrest them.

Well, we weren’t actually talking about Trump but his supporters. However, Impeachment is not actually a criminal trial, it exists to remove an individual from office (he leaves in 3 days). It also can be used to prevent him ever holding political office again and that’s where it starts to get very political. I’ve said before, if Trump has broken a law, put him in prison. I have no argument with anyone who breaks the law being put in front of a Judge and jury. But we’ve had, oh it’s Ok to break into Trump Towers or torch a shop, but it’s not ok to do the same to the Capitol. I would prosecute them all, Justice is supposed to be blind, some on here would excuse some lawbreakers and only prosecute their political opponents...

My husband found out yesterday that an old friend, who we not longer communicate with given our different ideologies, posted in his FB page that he was at the riot in Washington and his GPS location shows him inside Capitol Hill. I'm indignant at the thought this rich white guy felt so entitled to break the law and post about it on FB that I told my husband that we should report him to the FBI. But then I'm also having hesitation at the notion that we could ruin his life. Any suggestions? @LinekersLegs @BlueTX @verreauxi @Tin-Tin @SteveSC what would you all do?

I have cut ties with any Republican as a close friend long ago (I can fake being civil to some), so I'm probably not the one to ask. I have no sympathy for privileged hypocrite white dudes who play hero-victim, vote for racists, and support causes that are socially inequitable.

If it brings you lot in the USA back together I’m all for it......

Is this consistent with your idea of nuking Iran?

What if the attempted coup was effected by Muslims with ray guns?

Just think about what happened in Watership Down.
