I think the Mericans have some specific laws that are uncommon to us, which are way more than criminal damage level mate.

Point taken, even if we are talking about a matter of degree (private property damage vs. an insurrection/illegal entry of a government building). However, I would hope any friend of mine wouldn't do anything so stupid and put me in that position. If they did, they weren't really a friend.

Emotions have been running high in the USA for a while now, I doubt anyone there at the time even considered the feelings or otherwise of friends. This is why I believe this impeachment is such a bad idea, it just keeps the animosity going and it will no doubt be reciprocated. Biden won, Trump lost, Trump has been crass and an idiot. Biden needs to heal divisions and having an ongoing political war is not what he needs. In the words of Rambo who, in the film of the same name, said to the Sheriff “Let it go, let it go”......

Disagree totally.

There needs to be repercussions for what has happened. I've mentioned earlier that it's difficult to have any sort of healing without justice first, else the whole thing just becomes a festering wound.

It sets the precedent that you can get away with what you like as President, providing you whip your supporters up into enough of a violent frenzy as to scare people into wanting to make amends.

Exactly this. After the Civil War, we (to make a VERY long story VERY short) let the Southern states and all the people in them who committed treason back into the country free of consequences, told them they couldn’t have slaves anymore, but other than that allowed them to run themselves as they saw fit. All in the name of unity and healing. Cut to 155 years later, where we’re still dealing with the fallout from that decision.

For the fifth time. It not just b&e with a side of criminal damage. Breaking into a building such as this and wanting to hunt down politicians who are now cowering somewhere in it is seen as an act of sedition. Which is covered in the US constitution. It is a major federal crime and so anyone inside the building unlawfully should be prosecuted. Storming a building with an active senate/congress is a crime.

Equating it to entering a private building to do some damage is not the same thing.

You really are being obtuse. Several Americans and several immigrants to this land have explained this to you now. Just because you think something is correct it doesn't mean it is.

No kidding. Breaking into the seat of the US government and helping myself to some likely classified documents and a laptop isn’t exactly the same as breaking into the local convenience store and helping myself to Snickers and a Coke.
