Current Affairs Assault on US Capitol and Related (non-Trump) Investigation

I feel the same way for the Trump supporters that stormed the capitol. Like that swimming olympic former champion that turned himself yesterday, his life will never be the same. So I don't feel pity because they made a very bad choice. But I ca't help but feel sad for the many lives that are currently being ruined. These people allow themselves to believe the lie of an stolen election and risk their livelihoods because of Trump's lies.
And now they are begging for pardons

We’ll take ya up here. We need more Sas to be honest.
Hahaha, if they would take this sassy and her tribe then I would move. We actually considered moving to Canada before when Bush was president in the 2000s and I was naive enough to think that he was the worst president of this era, who would have thought I would be so wrong.

I really enjoyed Vancouver, we visited in 2002. Can't see myself living in a big city like that anymore but a small town near by would be nice. Nature around that area is so green and luscious. Really breathtaking.

You'd probably love Victoria, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. One of Canada's prettiest cities and the weather is a lot more moderate. Much like Seattle, which is a stone's throw away, really. The rest of Canada you probably wouldn't like in winter, although it's not so bad in my neck of the woods.

That’s where I am!! Don’t wanna toot the Vancouver horn to much, but It is quite nice here.

I bet I would love Victoria, I'm more of a nature type of person than a city girl. We wanted to visit when we were in the area but by then we had already been traveling for two months around the US and were didn't have enough time. Your are right about the weather. This Sassy won't be able to tolerate super freezing cold weather like other parts of Canada.

Where do you live? How are Canadian feeling about everything that's happening here regarding the attack against Capitol Hill?

London, Ontario. Halfway between Toronto and Detroit.
And the vast majority of Canadians, I feel, are shaking their heads in disbelief at what's going on down there.

It is very nice, you are very fortunate. Vancouver is a very cool city too. My husband and I had one of the most passionate experiences of our lives together on the hotel roof top overlooking the city so I have fond memories of our time there lol

However, as much as I love Canada, I love my country too and would rather to stay here in the US and continue raising our daughter in Asheville. I want to be part of this democracy and hope the recent events that happened in Capitol Hill are not going to become the new norm.

I was thinking about this tired right-wing trope that I have heard here from neophytes like Grinch or professional idiots like TX Bill, about how "liberals are in their own echo-chamber"..."their own woke bubble", etc. I've even heard this from seeming progressives such as Abelard on this forum. You also see this same type of nonsense-talk on twitter.

And I started to think about this in the context of all the fallout from the insurrection.

--Trump is de-platformed from Twitter.
--Trump is impeached for a second time
--A major right-wing social media platform (parler) not given a voice by Amazon, Apple, Google
--Lots of major corporations are reviewing how they donate to politics--e.g., Boeing, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Google, Nike, JP Morgan Chase, Dow, Wal-Mart, Visa, etc.
--Georgia--Georgia, not Massachusetts--is launching a criminal investigation against Trump for trying to overturn the election.
--Hundreds of insurrectionists are being rounded up by the Federal Government.
--The highest-ranking military general condemns the insurrection.
--Every one of the top commanders in the four armed forces condemns the insurrection.
--0 out of 42 lawsuits filed by Trump concerning election fraud have been won (and some of these are ruled on by Republican judges).
Etc.

So, in thinking about this...the vast majority of Americans condemn this charade and insurrection; all the people in the highest military offices condemn this charade and insurrection; the judicial system, by and large, condemns this charade and insurrection; all major corporations condemn this charade and insurrection; almost all forms media entertainment condemn this charade and insurrection; almost all news sources condemn this charade and insurrection.

Exactly who is in the bubble here?
