My husband found out yesterday that an old friend, who we not longer communicate with given our different ideologies, posted in his FB page that he was at the riot in Washington and his GPS location shows him inside Capitol Hill. I'm indignant at the thought this rich white guy felt so entitled to break the law and post about it on FB that I told my husband that we should report him to the FBI. But then I'm also having hesitation at the notion that we could ruin his life. Any suggestions? @LinekersLegs @BlueTX @verreauxi @Tin-Tin @SteveSC what would you all do?

They probably already have his details.

Report him. If his life is ruined then thats on him for choosing to go there.
Plus im sure if he was one of the ones who didnt actually break in or run riot and just arrived to protest then the FBI will clear him. If he was inside as you say then he should be prosecuted

I can imagine your conundrum but actions have consequences.

Thanks for the advise. I also agree he should pay for his actions. He is a rich guy that has lived a privilege life and has gotten away with other unlawful actions throughout his life without having to pay any consequences for it.

He made the choice to attend the rally and to illegally enter the Capitol during an attempt to nullify an election. If he robbed a bank or fondled the little girl next door....?

Without hesitation, I'd report him.

One of those with the notion that they are untouchable and money will save them from any consequences.

Also, if he was willing to go there and brag about it, he obviously isnt ashamed or doesnt feel remorse so whats to stop him engaging in the next MAGA call to arms? If you report him you literally could be saving lives.

I think you should report all five of them........no wait, just re-read it, tell him to report himself or else......

I’d probably report him, and you shouldn’t worry about whatever consequences he ends up facing. The decision to be there that day was completely his. I considered this conundrum a few days ago, but thankfully haven’t seen anyone I know in any of the footage yet.

Apparently the FBI is trying for some kind of warrant to get the numbers of every cellphone inside the Capitol that day. And those that weren't supposed to be there will be getting a visit.
