I'm not one to knee jerk but this chap hasnt really inspired.
He's fine as a defender but on the ball he's absolutely woeful. Today his aimless kicking long to diagonal was painful.
I understand he's paid to defend but the modern CB has to be able to play a bit.

Has everyone forgotten how horrible we've been defensively the last two years. He's been what we needed. Stability.
He's been decent as a stop gap particularly with jags being pretty well finished but he and FM as 1st choice next season should hopefully not be the case.

I was pleased when we signed him, despite his age, I thought he was a rock solid defender and probably a decent replacement for Stones.
With Jags on the wain, I reckon Williams is pretty much at where Jags was last season sadly. His distribution has been woeful at times. Mind you, playing alongside Funes Mori can't help.
The stats say our defence is quite solid, but to me, it's creaking. Two central defenders and a keeper required next season please.

I'd argue that our stats are good with a creaking back-line due to the keeper..... Two central defenders in , but I think Robles has solidified the net and a replacement there isn't as pressing as it was last summer.
