Awful news.

Pienaar won't even be back for for the next two games and Bilyaletdinov is also suspended for 3 games in the League. We really are ****ed.

Gosling and Cahill outwide again probably, fantastic news.

Arteta for me is finished. He will not come back from this spate of injuries the same player. But what I want to know is what kind of rehab is he going through? In essence what the **** is going on, and also with Pienaar? Late fitness test for Wolves, but still not ready for the next 2 games.

Rathbone out - he's garbage.

It's not Rathbone, he predates all this. It has to be the change in emphasis in the fitness regime. Moyes backed the plan to bring in that change and he should now take some bold decisions to kill it off. If, as was claimed, it was a way of making more of scarce player resources then it's been a complete and utter disaster.

I agree where the hell is pienaar had a fitness test for wolves and now is only a chance to play against manu, probably wake up tomorrow and he needs surgery aswell.

From the OS, it sounds like something has already been done:

Mikel Arteta has suffered a minor set back in his come back from injury.
The midfielder, who sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury in February, has had to undergo a procedure to remove an infection from the same knee and is now recovering.
In his press briefing today (Wednesday) ahead of the Europa League clash with Benfica, David Moyes said: "Mikel has needed to have a 'wash out' on his knee after doctors found an infection.
"It is a setback for him. However we can't say how long it has put him back.”
I take it this is different from the cartilage stitch which came undone (or whatever) some weeks ago.

I was alright......for a while.
Then I woke up this morning and bam!

The injury wasn't unusual in itself, so why is rehab taking too long? Something wrong somewhere me thinks.

*Glares at coaches and physios*

I have had my knees 'washed out', if this is all the problem is, he will be ok. (y)
However.........

although it was a different injury this is reminding me of an Aussie rules player who broke his leg suffered complications and then didn't play for two years. And when he did play again he wasn't the same player.

Although this makes it seem like a minor complication
