Arshavin begging us

Although he's a great player, it wouldn't make sense for Everton to buy him. Transferfee is to high and also his wages would be a problem. With his age, his sell on value would be next to nothing. So, good player, but no thanks for me.

Not for me, as soon as he heard other "bigger clubs" were interested he suddenly had always dreamed of playing for them. Mercenary in the M'Bia mould and would only use us as a stepping stone
Same here tbh..a few months yes for sure i'd love to have had him here but nope..his times gone for that,we shouldnt be a stepping stone club for anyone.

Well yeah, but It should be about showing a bit of loyalty to the team that has gambled on a player. if the player fails the team has to take a considerable hit financially, if the player succeeds He'll bugger off anyway and the club still loses.

You know, that loyalty highway runs both ways. We desire/demand loyalty from players, but teams also take loyal players and sell them on if the fit is not just right or there is cash to be had... AJ for example. The sport is a business on both sides for better or worse. And for the record, we did the right thing by selling AJ imo.

I see other threads are way off the mark so I thought I would get the ball rolling again.

Read between the lines. He is gagging to come to us. Even though he has not mentioned our club he is meaning us. I can tell. I know these things. A friend of a friend who has a dog that has once chased a cat that ate the mouse that chased a fly that was swallowed by an old woman that once [Poor language removed] in Moyes backyard told me.

Sky Sports | Football | News | Arshavin keen to exit Zenit

He's sending out a come and get me to someone but its not us. I heard next doors parrot talking about it.

Arshavin out of our league now better things to spend our money on. According to the papers we are lining up bids for Love, Moutinho and Cana. So looks like we will not need Manny!

While he is a class player, I really don't know why everyone is going crazy over him right now. We already have a bit of a logjam at the offensive center mid position (Cahill/Felliani). Adding another big money player to that position doesn't make any sense.

Let's try to find us a defensive midfielder, someone to win challenges and hold the ball for posession before we start trying to upgrade a position of strength...

We wont go for him hes to old now, for the money we would have to shell out IMO.

Isn't he 28? If so, that is way too old for the sort of money Zenit want. We've got perhaps 2 years from him before he begins to go off the boil. No thanks.
