Been our biggest downfall all season - our fullbacks have to learn to defend first and support the CB's. That should come from the training ground but looks like RM has forgone this training in favour of 3 hours of keepy-uppy followed by a hot yoga session.

He's a tactical bellend if he can't see why we keep conceding the way we do.

spot on mate. and both our full backs offered nothing going forward. just checked the individual stats. between baines and coleman. 17 crosses and 0 found an everton player. pathetic performance today. too many headless chickens and players who could not trap a bag of cement. Barkley has been needing a rest for a month now and lukaku will be burnt out come the semi.

I thought today illustrated just how badly we need to sign a creative midfielder. When we come up against teams that sit back and defend well and don't give us too much space, we just can't seem to unlock the defence no matter how much possession we have.

Near the end of the game, I deffo thought our fans started singing "Roberto Martinez, get out of our club" came across as quite loud over the telly as well, someone said it was Arsenal fans though?

Not that I heard mate.

It was just general discontent and bar the first 5 mins and about a 5 minute period in the second half just before the Ospina 'injury', we were hopeless

I have no feelings anymore, like the ending of a bad relationship, I dont care if we win the FA Cup to be honest, I just want us competing in the top half of the table and not having the worst defensive record in the Premier League, absolute bullshit we are under Martinez. At least with Moyes we had some pride in being tight defensively and weren't a [Poor language removed] embarrassment, we are Everton, even under Moyes I was proud,

I am more proud now. I can see this club is progressing....maybe not just yet on the pitch but certainly off it and defo with our attitude towards other teams. We are not afraid of anyone now whereas we used to take a knife to a gunfight. The future is bright.

We were very, very bad today Banno.

The future may be bright, but two of our best players may well leave us this summer.

I'm not normally this downcast, but RM was clueless today. Clueless

....Barkley? For me it's a lack of creativity from wide positions that needs addressing. Deulofeu is our most creative player yet he can't get in the side. Sometimes you have to sacrifice creation for perspiration. The mid-80s side is a good model, Trevor Steven on one side, Kevin Sheedy on the other with 2 industrious central midfielders.

Great doing what, Toff?

All's I saw him doing was slowing the play down every time he got the ball.

Not that he was alone in that respect :(

But "great" is not an adjective which could be applied to any of the thirteen men we had on the pitch today.

He made 3 or 4 really good covering tackles and always looked to get on the front foot.

The movement ahead of him was dreadful.

Also didn't look anywhere near as jittery as he has done lately.

I'd start him against United, either in a two or a three, with Mori dropping out if it's a two.

He may not be around for long but he needs to perform to his best if only for selfish reasons.

Get him in the team.

After the usual hours walk trying to get my head around another home defeat,I'm just surprised we're surprised!
