Daily Mail says we 'battled' to a draw.

[Poor language removed] right off. Why can't these knobheads who write the articles just give us some credit for once?

**** em. To be honest, I think that's the way I want it. We've always done better when expectations are a bit lower... lets us come up on the rails while no one's paying attention.

Daily Mail ? Arsed ? Nope.

People who actually know about football will appreciate what we're doing. Journos just turn out things without thinking.

We out played them for most of the game our football was brilliant - our end pass was just missing - e deserved a draw at least they looked iffy yet created a few chances - we play like Barcelona !!!!

The bravery was why I always loved Martinez, since long before we were in for him. I loved the notion that he didn't care how many goals they conceded, didn't care how many bollockings MOTD gave him, he wanted Mike Pollit and Gary Caldwell to play it out from the back and nothing less was good enough. That bravery was amazing.

He's now being rewarded by the rocks we have in defence, and the great spirit amongst our players and their willingness to adapt to his methods. We have been perfect for one another.

Yeah, I'm with you all the way! (y)

Main reason we started so poor every season was fatigue, down to Moyes. Last season would've been the same only a pre-season tour got cancelled.

Moyes has got nothing to do with whats happening at Everton

I can't agree mate. I think our bad starts were psychological, fuelled by an inability to properly furnish the squad over the summer. Moyes didn't really have anything to spend whereas - ironically, thanks to Moyes - we shipped off our worst midfielder for a record fee and allowed him to bring in several key players. Though, in another twist, Moyes had money and did [Poor language removed] all (sh*tty Fellaini aside) over the summer with United and look how they started... poorly! And that knowledge that the squad is deeply lacking quality has spread like a malignant infection and caused the players to lose faith in the team.

But you can't fail to afford Moyes credit - I always liked him, but you needn't to do so - because it's so obvious. Martinez himself was careful to emphasise the foundations of excellence Moyes had put in place. Not Moyes' fault it needed another man to properly utilise those foundations, but build them he certainly did.

Not that it matters really, but I think we'll be getting plenty of praise in the morning rags.

Wenger and Arteta have been extremely complimentary towards us in their interviews. BBC live feed has been inundated with praise.

Man u POV
The football they are playing is great but Moyes set that team spirit up that they have, he transformed them from relegation flirters into a top 6 outfit, he made them into the respected outfit they are today. Martinez appears to have taken them on but let's see if they finish any higher than 6th because I very much doubt it.

I don't come on here often these days, but I just have to say: this is one of the best, and one of the most exciting, Everton squads I've seen - surely the best since the mid 1980s? 4 points out of the last 2 matches, when last season I would have hoped for that but have expected 0. I thought the first half against Newcastle was one of the best 45 minutes I'd seen from an Everton team for years, but the first half of this game surpassed it. We rarely played a passing game under Moyes (Man C a season or two ago being an exception). I have nothing but absolute praise for Roberto Martinez: under him Everton HAVE NO FEAR, in true Everton tradition. Moyes' defensive style of play took us so far but was rarely something to be proud of: now the REAL Everton have resurfaced. If we got anything wrong at all in this game then maybe there were too many high balls to Lukaku, but really that's just being petty. It would have been an absolute injustice if we had taken anything less than 1 point from the game: but what really excites me is that, for the first time for many years I actually believed we might have taken all 3, even against the on-form league leaders.

Thank you, Roberto, for truly understanding what this great club is all about, and thank you to all the players out there today for having TOTAL PASSION and TOTAL COMMITMENT. Even if we'd come away without a point I would be saying this - and that is why I'm so proud of both the team and the management.

Imo, it's important that we hang on to the entire squad in the January window. I would be happy if we buy nobody but at the same time sell none of the players that have played a part in the season so far.

Couldn't agree more
