Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "Overall, we have to congratulate Everton as they played very well and started better but, saying that, Tim Howard made three excellent saves.

"We regret we were 1-0 up and couldn't keep a clean sheet. We were caught a bit on the flanks. This team has a fantastic attitude and response always. They give everything. We know we have quality and at least we took a point.

"There is always room for improvement. The three points would have been better but attitude and quality of players is there and is a good basis for improvement.

"It was quality game with two teams who tried to play in an attacking way. It was an enjoyable game played in an enjoyable spirit."

Considering how much Wenger moans, this is perhaps the biggest sign of respect. He knows what a good team we are.

Feeling damn proud tonight I was chosen a Toffee.

COYB.

That's not really accurate, for two reasons...

1) Moyes, like it or not, is responsible for building the vast majority of our current squad
2) Moyes's frequent slights against our current manager have probably had a galvanising effect on squad morale, and the integration of the new management team with the playing staff.

Delafeou. Nothing to do with Moyes.

Lukaku. Nothing to do with Moyes.

Oviedo. Never really played by Moyes.

Barkley. Never really played by Moyes.

Jelavić played into the ground by Moyes.

Etc

Pundits actually putting us in the title race.........WTF is going on, this is not real.

The question is 'Are we?', I think come Jan 1st we will truly know what the situation is.

At least 10 from 12 is a must if we are going into 2014 with any slight chance of anything special.

P.S. I don't think we are even with the above points haul but we are not that far away, especially with a couple of positive signings as has been indicated by Bobby.

Martinez in press conf: Everton "played even better" than against Man United. "We are over the mental block of playing big teams away"

We have 7 winnable games until the derby at Anfield. I know we won't win all 7, but this stretch will determine our fate this season I think.

Thats telling, really really telling. The clear psychological block of going to these clubs albeit first attempt is certainly fading. We have turned up and tried, thats all we've ever wanted. Even when City beat us!

What a performance,no humbling gutless 2-0 defeat for us.
No ! We matched them in every area of the pitch, a quality display of determined and confident football by the premier leagues in-form side.
Loving the Martinez style of management, the guy just oozes class and confidence.
Get in !
